ive just dowloaded the file and there was plenty of things!


Actually there is, I made sure there was something in there. If it won't extract just check in SMW Central.

No one is dumb enough to think that DKC and SMW use the same engine.
I thought that was pretty obvious

You underestimate the average stupidity witnessed on this forum.. It is hard to tell when someone is just an idiot and making a blatently sarcastic remark sometimes. (Especially in the above case.)

So yea.. Someone actually being "that dumb" is actually commonplace here.

Omega, i downloaded that file. When i open the zip file, theres nothing to extract!!!!!!

True, but it's pretty unlikely.

Likely however, the sprite tables will be much different. there would be no need for a yoshi-related table, and the different sprite values would liekly mean different things.

The ONLY way to get that to work would be to copy the code out, then disassemble it and modify it to work with SMW's game engine instead of DKC's game engine.

What?! No, they don't. SMW and DKC3 aren't even similar when it comes to gameplay, so just beliving that they use the same engine is... ugh! Also, SMW was made by Nintendo and DKC3 was made by Rare!

Why do people belive that code can be copied from one game to another? You CAN'T copy code from game A to game B and expect it to work, unless the games uses the same game engine (like Super Mario Bros. and Lost Levels).

With just a little bit of ASM, almost anything's possible!
Heh heh...

If you were to get a lot better with SMW hacking and proceeded to ASM hacking, I suppose you could make a sprite that walked at a certain speed but didn't interfere with Mario. (A sort of... background sprite, I guess... He could be our "Koopa the Quick") You could do a little trial-and-error with how long it takes the sprite to reach a certain point. You would then make THAT the time limit. Since the sprite will reach that point as soon as the time limit is reached, you could suppose it was because you lost the "race" that you died... Just a thought, you know.

Or... You could actually code the level to be similar to DKC3's level. Since both games are for SNES, it could be possible to use the ASM code from that level on a SMW level... But it'd be extremely difficult.

But... It's not like I'm gonna help with any of that... I'm just the lazy guy with the ideas.
