Hm, a Microsoft portable would suck, as that would likely mean that Rare wouldn't be able to produce GBA or DS games anymore. |

Mang, imagine if this was out in time for Bad Santa.
Security Guard: You wouldn't be tryin' to hide something in those baggy pants of yours, would ya? Willie: Just something to cripple your sister with... (pulls out XBoy) |

Originally posted by tunabot I don't really see this as a new development, though. The grapics race has been on ever since SNES / Genesis, in my opinion. We will see how the Wii does. Sony is a sitting duck; It's up to Nintendo and Microsoft to fight for the supreme console throne. |

oh no, this is scary. i remember a chat on ro where it was decided that if the xbox ever made a handheld system, it'd be called xboy, and it'd be just as big as a gamecube.
i wonder if it'll be that big. I have an XBOX, yes, but I proudly say that I mostly use it for ROMS POINTING AND LAUGHING |

off-topic:
sorry Im usually not like this, its just that I've been REALLY angry at everything for the past couple months, and I guess Im just venting it out. Ive been doing this in real life too, which is a huge problem for everyone who talks to me . I'll try to work on it . on-topic: for a more realistic (non-elitist) view, Im hoping it fails, if it even gets made. I doubt it, though. There has been no official annnouncement for this (that Ive seen) and rumors of an "X-Boy" portable has (honestly) been thrown around by xbox fanboys (xboy originally was meant as an offensive term for xbox fanboy 4-5 years ago...) since the xbox's inception. its easily understandable as to why these rumors started: MS is the author's favorite company, they think MS can do better than Nintendo and Sony, and they want a new portable, and "boy" is the most well-known suffix for a portable because of gameboy's popularity. corrections from my previous reply: as to what I said before, It isnt totally true (just elitist crap). But it is true that MS is doing better than nintendo currently -- I just hope that Nintendo really serious about kicking butt this time, with Sega out of hardware, Nintendo has my full support, as they still seem to focus on gameplay. Theyve been around for over 100 years, and no company is pushing them out. They'll be here for another 100 surely. |

Originally posted by spiroth10 Dear sir, would you please move your elitism to the side so that I may perhaps step by? Because, you see, it has become in fact tangible, so thick that it has created a jello-like mold around you. Anyways, I don't think Japan is any different. There's a reason most of the Japanese games don't come to America; They suck. |

ANyone who points out where in the linked article they mention the name "X-boy" gets a cookie.
So far it's just Joystiq making stupid bullshit anti-X-box hate. |

joystiq?
Eh. I'll need to see more sources before I believe anything they say. Originally posted by spiroth10 ... *And Xeogred was silent* |

Originally posted by Kario I seriously hope that is the truth, but Im not so sure. As I said in my RPG rant, people will care more about "OmIg0Dz ItZ XbOx ad PoRtBle W00t" (thats the actual grammer Xboys think in... I know enough of them.) even though (most of) us hate it, Microsoft currently is at the head of the game industry -- it used to be people said you played "nintendo" as it was recognised. then it went to "Playstation" when sony came in and took the major hold. Now everybody says XBOX. and it pisses me off to no end -- I have an XBOX, yes, but I proudly say that I mostly use it for ROMS, and I copy rented games. Im proud to rip-off microsoft. they just raise inflation rates anyway -- not like they CAN make any more money. anyway, all they have to do is throw in PSP quality graphics, and despite the efforts of real gamers, it will succeed. For we are a dying race, and nearly extinct. People that I know already think that the DS is a "Toy" and PSP is a "real system because the graphics are good". I dont know about you guys, but Im thinking I might move to Japan eventually, where some real gamers still exist. |

Originally posted by Sonicandtails It better be. Since a joystick on a handheld would make things... too bulky. The only reason this will sell is because the highly overated Halo might be on it. Its another Xbox. I don't want another Xbox. I don't play mine at all as it is. |

Exactly.

When you say easiest, you mean it will fail right?
Because it most certainly will. |

Judging by what his sources say, it's half-real, and half-obviously made up. |

Xboy? What a cheap ripoff name from Gameboy. I don't know who would want to carry one of those around with them. It looks clunky and would be very uncomfortable to carry around in your pocket. Most of the time when you make a handheld system, you make it so it isn't a pain to carry around with you, but Microsoft fails at this one. However, I can't wait to see this thing in action. It'll be very interesting. |
