I know it's a war game of some sort and is fantasy based. I've seen ads for it. Yet i've never actually played the game.
My game is not real-time, so that's one of what must be tons of differences since i've never played Warcraft. I'm not real big on real-time strategy, which is probably why i have'nt played these games. When i'm strategizing i like to be able to take my time and consider my moves, like a game of chess. I also like to see what's going on, and in my limited experience with real-time strategy games, too much stuff eventually starts happening, at the same time, somewhere on the map that you may not even realize is going on.
I can see though that the name "Worlds of War" is very similar to "World of Warcraft". When did World of Warcraft come out? Maybe they stole my name! I came up with mine way back in 2001!

...How can you play video games enough to make your own game, and still have no clue what Warcraft is?

It's a real time strategy game, and Warcraft II was the first BIG real time strategy game, the one that put the entire genre on the map. Starcraft is by the same company, and the Warcraft world was made into an MMORPG by the name of World of Warcraft.

No, but you can buy things between wars.

I'm unfamiliar with Warcraft, is it a similar concept?

Will there be a way to craft weapons in this game? Weapons for war? Warcraft, if you will? Because I think it would be really cool if this world of war became a world full of warcraft.

And now I have to shoot myself.

I dont know if thats going to be my final title or not (though i have already drawn a nice title screen using it). This game was nameless for the the 1st 2 years of its existence. If i think up something which i like better, or someone suggest ssomething better, and it still suits what the game is i may change it.

Some reason that name strikes me as being familiar....

Hm... I can't quite put my finger on it...

But the game, as a whole... sounds somewhat entertaining.

There used to be a forum here for Game Creation, but it's gone now. I'm creating a game but am now unsure about what forum i'm supposed to talk about it in. Is it this one?
My game is at this time being called Worlds of War. I have coded it in C++. It is a tactical game with some RPG elements (in that units from your world gain exp. and can gain levels). In this game you control an entire world with your own world map. During a war, multiple worlds have their maps laid side by side and units can cross over from world to world, in an attempt to conquer another dimension.
The premise for the game is that the number of alternate dimensions was expanding till it reached a critical mass, and now it is shrinking. As it shrinks dimensions bump up against each other and battle for space.
To populate the different dimensions i am using classic videogames. So different dimensions will be based on different games. My goal is to eventually have so many worlds added into the game that there will be surprises as you play it, running into units you did'nt expect to see, etc.
As of a couple days ago Worlds of War has become playable, mostly. I have one world done, and it's perfectly playable as long as all sides in a war are human controlled. I will be adding in some sort of AI worlds to play against, sound, and at least one more world before i release the earliest version to the public.
