Wow, I can't believe I missed this thread. MST3K was the best television show ever. This isn't even an exaggeration. If you haven't seen atleast one episode, I feel very, very sorry for you. Anyway, the best host segment was "The Canada Song". The best episode was Space Mutiny.

I watched Aeon Flux a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to see that sillouette appear at the bottom of the screen. The movie was just asking for it. I mean, a giant squid appeared in the sky for no reason at all, and she goes inside and there's a man dressed like a giant phallus in there.

I'm not entirely sure there has EVER been a drive-in movie theater in North Louisiana. There certainly haven't been any within my lifetime. I've always wanted to go to one.

There's always other people within earshot at the movies unless we go to the drive-in. The drive-in is awesome. Too bad the last movie I saw there was Batman Begins, and it was great, so there wasn't any reason to snark back and forth without whispering.

I think the best movie theater experience I had was going to see American Pie with a friend who, like me, loves good raunchy humor. The theater was packed with people our age, and the opening sequence had all of us going "GAH!" in unison and laughing so hard we had trouble breathing. There's a beautiful synergy of an entire audience having an absolute blast at a goofy comedy movie.

I love it when my friends and I are the only people at a movie. Unless I'm with a girlfriend (and therefore making out) I'm not too shy about talking since we have the theater to ourselves. It's always worked out that we've seen stupid or cheesy movies when this has happened and we always have a blast cracking on them.

Oh...I forgot to suggest a movie for MSTing.

Silent Hill.

It's way too easy to snark on - we were coming up with quite a few good lines on the fly in the theater (whispered, of course) - but still.

Anaconda would also be great. It's still one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and that does include Mortal Kombat: Annihilation.

I was introduced to MST3K through the fanfics that were named in honour of it, and it's only after writing a few, (in which FF characters replaced the robots and the bloke), that I caught an ep. Very funny, though impossible to come by apart from Ebay or torrents.

No... sadly you can't cure so-stupid-Kas-wants-to-smash-your-head-with-a-brick syndrome. One of the players is a good guy and pretty cool but his wife has the afforementioned problem. She's painful to be around. And she's incapable of role-playing any given alignment (Whoa! Kas just let his nerd level be known!) and can't play a multi-way dance 40k game without basically being a reserve army for her hubby. Luckily she plays Tau and I rape her units.

Anyway, back on topic. I've been voted in as acting Joel for my school's MST3K group on facebook. Now that I have the eps we'll be having a weekly MSTie meeting once school starts. Yay! 8 nerds with a laptop and a projector! I don't mind being a nerd. I'm a cool nerd.

I'll leave you with a quote from Tom Servo.
"Ohhhh it's breastica-boobicle chestica-mammilar pendular globular fun!!!!"

I never was able to see that show or knew it existed back then, for that matter (yay for way limited analog cable), but since I got on the internet I just seem to see countless references to the show wherever I go. But thanks to someone I can now watch it. (He knows who he is )

That sucks. I have a very similar problem (hobby shop near my home... but full of idiots). I hope you'll be able to un-dumb people to play good 40K games.

Some of my friends have seen that type of thing at cons as well. I've never gotten to go to an anime con, unfortunately. I've been to a few SCA events but no conventions. I really wanted to go to BotCon (the transformers convention) last year as it was only a few hours' drive away, but didn't wanna pay the billion dollars for the attendance fee.

I fricking love this show. I haven't seen it in years, and I don't remember it well enough to have any favorites. Otakon used to host a Mystery Anime Theater 3000 - with robot puppets and all - but its creators retired, so MAT3K is no more. I understand that they would rather end the concept on a high note than hand it over to someone who might not do as well with it, but it's still a bummer. At least I got to see it in 2002 and 2003, and it really was an excellent fanwork. They picked truly awful movies, and their robot commentary was in character and just as funny as the official scripts. I'm sure it must be recorded somewhere.

They carry all of them? Very bootlegged, I'm assuming... since only a handfull of the episodes have been officially released. If you pick one up, let me know what the quality is like. I plan on authoring all of these to DVD as soon as I get over being lazy.

I need to get all the eps on DVD. My local anime shop carries them.

Oh...I remember just sitting there in front of the TV for hours watching this show. Amazing.

I just paused my movie because I'm a little bit tipsy and couldn't stop myself from making a thread. I'm sure I'm not the only MSTie on Acmlm's. I'm currently watching Master Ninja II from season 3. Woot for torrents.

What's your favorite episode?

And What's your favorite Joel/Mike and the bots segment?

What movie do you wish had gotten the MST treatment?

I'd post a link for a good MST3K torrent site but that would probably be against the rules. PM me or google it if you're interested.

*edit* Warsteiner is pretty good, I may buy it for a while instead of Cerveza Sol and Newcastle Brown...
*edit 2* Apparently I can't spell. Or use the preview post button.
