Oooooo.

I can't wait until I go to Vegas and all my drinks are free whilst I gamble.

Sure, sure. Piss-pot

Yeah, mint and hot chocolate would go superbly.

This all mysteriously reminds me that I have limited edition caramel Baileys too

mmmmmm affogato.

You can also mix booze with your coffee. Kahlua goes very nicely, Grand Marnier and Cointreau are also good.

It'd be like pulling a Rocky. Just with caffeine, too.

Edit: Got movies with eggs confused.

I'll go with the other people on this one; eggs in coffee probably would kill you...

Seriously though, I should try that, (make a coffee, and egg, omllete(sp?)...)
I can hardly stand plain scrambled eggs though, let alone coffee-flavored scrambled eggs...

I didn't say anything about putting egg in coffee!!

But yeah, the common misconception about eggs is that they're full of cholesterol, which is bad for you.

The thing is, they're right and wrong at the same time -- eggs are full of cholesterol, but it's not bad for you -- there are good and bad cholesterols, and eggs are full of the GOOD one that helps unclog your arteries.

Eggs are good WITH coffee (ie, bacon and eggs, and a coffee to drink) but not IN it, I'm sure.

Speaking of gross things in coffee, I squirm every time I hear that line in The Simpsons about Homer having butter in his coffee.

How much soda is it that you drink? Because one thing I certainly know, is that soda is one of those things that really sneaks up on you as far as calories and such goes.

The idea that the milk in coffee is bad -- because milk is full of fat -- is a bit of a popular myth, and may not be as bad for you as you think. Even full cream milk is only something like 3% fat, which is not much at all. It seems to be one of those popular myths, like that eggs are bad for you (they're not) and such.

On the other hand, the sugar content of soda is usually fairly ridiculous.

You're best to really minimize both coffee and soda really. Coffee cause of the caffeine, and soda cause of the sugar. Where possible, stick with water and fruit juices. If you don't like the taste of plain water, it's sometimes nice if you squeeze a little lemon juice in with it.

BTW offtopic question, but does anyone here know someone who died cause of caffeine?

"The volume of caffeine required assures a lethal dose is virtually impossible. The LD50 for caffeine is estimated at 150 mg/kg body weight or approximately 10 grams for the averaged size human. A standard 6 ounce cup of coffee contains 1-2 mg/kg of caffeine. People with heart problems should avoid caffeine consumption because of its effects on blood pressure and heart rate. Fatalities are likely to occur only with intravenous administration."

(from here)

So, unless you're taking bottles of caffeine pills, you should be good.

Edit: This is a related funny little thing. Death by Caffeine

You could just not drink coffee on the weekends or something like that. :\ And AVOID the ice cream because god knows that's worse.

Well, I put creamer in my coffee, which I know isn't good for you... and I have more than one cup. Probably two or three, depending on the day. It's a mug that I fill up, and it's pretty big. But eh, I know that I don't NEED to give it up... I'm just choosing to, at least for the summer. I figure if there's one thing I don't want to give up, it's the soda. So for the time being, I'll skip the coffee and reward myself with a soda every now and then.

Avoiding the ice cream is a whole different story. You know how hard that is when you WORK there, and it's offered to you for half the price? Takes a lot of self control. But I'm doing good so far.

Caffeine pills.... nah. I don't need it that badly. Soda is something I like because of it's wonderful flavor and carbonation, not the caffeine. But I don't like decaf coffee, so I have a feeling that it's the caffeine that makes the coffee, for me. As long as I just limit myself... to a cup a day or so... it shouldn't be a problem!

Take a hack saw and cut the neck off...

Or tip the bottle straight up and down, then drink the whole thing on the spot... then fall over dead three seconds later - I mean, has anyone else noticed the warning labels on energy drinks? The go something like, "Not recommended for Pregnent or nursing women, children under the age of twelve, or those with a sensetivity to caffeine"...

I don't think a lot of us would be drinking it if it tasted like THAT.

Caffeine pills? Oh boy.

I'm not a huge coffee person. Reminds me too much of licking as ashtray, flavor wise. Only way you can get me to drink it is putting enough milk and sugar in it to mask the flavor entirely. I'm definitely an energy drink person though. Monster brand is my favorite. I'm partial to the original and to the Khaos blends.

As for bread, wheat is the greatest thing in the whole world of the breads. White bread tastes funny. It's very flavorless and it seems to disintegrate too easily, there's nothing to chew.

Danielle: I share your pain. Except it's soda and energy drinks for me instead of coffee. School's impossible without that caffiene kick that early. I recommend caffiene pills, if that's what you drink the coffee for. One pill is usually the equivalent of a cup of coffee and if you drink water you spare the calories and still get the kick. Plus, you keep the hydration caffiene makes you lose.

Pfft. I've lost 20kg (44lbs) and I didn't have to give up coffee.

Don't think that just cause you're trying to lose weight means you have to give up on your favourite things. It just means you have to be more careful about enjoying those things -- don't have them all the time, for example.

Oh yeah, I heard about that too. But coffee is also loaded with caffeine, and can therefore be addictive.
Decaf.

Never say that word again, mister.

Eh, it's not that I'm trying to kick the habit, I'm just trying to lose some weight this summer (when I work at a god damn ice cream store, YEAH RIGHT) and I know that coffee is very bad for you unless you use nonfat everything and drink decaf. Which I don't. When school starts back up, you can bet I'll be drinking coffee again. I can't do 5 AM mornings without it.
