Your freshman year in high school will be your best opportunity in the next 4 years to make good new friends. You'll probably meet some pretty interesting new people. You'll probably have some crazy good times.

I went to a private school, so we didn't have a mixing of middle schools or a massive influx of new kids, but we still got several new people in my freshman class and most of them are still really good friends of mine.

It's not that bad... if you just do the work you're given it's a breeze. And the explosions in chem are much more exciting if you actually understand how and why it's exploding.

I'm going to be a senior this coming year... but I still remember my first day of high school clearly. It takes some time to adjust, as it is a change from middle school, but if you do your work and stay focused and out of trouble, you'll enjoy it.

That's what I'll need to do, because I'm going to Kenwood.

Heh... For everything that HS is made out to be, its really not that big of a deal. To me, the first day almost two years ago only feels like yesterday. My how the times fly

My piece of advice? Do your work. Its amazing how far a handful of missed assignments will SCREW your grade for the quarter. (Ive seen it second hand, its kinda shocking )

Anyways, dont worry too much about it. If you go in prepared for the "worst" you will come out just fine in the end

If you're ever in trouble, just scream "Ouendan!". Let's get started. Ready? Steady? Go! Please, trust me.

Yeah, Highschool is way more different than Middle school. Definentaly spend more time on work, and homework. You don't want a couple mistakes, or laziness follow you around your whole life. I'm only a Junior, and it's already biting me in the ass. The drama can be fun, sometimes, but try not to make any enemies. Be friends with whoever you can, and if you don't like someone, ignore 'em. You don't want groups of people against you. It can ruin your time.

Sorry for all the advice, just trying to help.

Congratulations.

Now's where the real fun starts. Just don't get caught up in the drama bubble, and you'll be fine!

I wish I was still in MS...
back then, I didnt have to try, and got grades of 100 for pretty much every class...
this year (9th grade) I didnt try and got 90s for some classes and high 80s for others...

Im going to try for all 100s next year. I want to go to a really good college, and not take out ANY loans. I dont want debt. When I get a credit card, Im paying everything off that month, and getting rid of it asap. I was thinking of trying to get into MIT for programming, but thats probably out of the question because of those grades below 90.
wanna be a game programmer.

anyway, have fun in high school. that is, if you like more homework.
at least you can look forward to varsity sports! I got my letter the first season, and most other freshmen didnt get one till the end of the year, if at all. of course, most people dont play 3+ sports each year and still do their work...

It's a big deal at the time... I think it shrinks in retrospect.

At my elementary school they had Kindergarten and 1st grade on the first floor, then 2nd and 3rd grade on the 2nd floor, 4th and 5th on the top floor, and then middle school (6, 7, 8) was around the basement areas.

All through 2nd and 3rd grade I would hear my teachers yelling at us, telling us that the teachers in 4th and 5th grade won't accept our brand of misbehavior and inattentiveness.

Then we got to 4th and 5th grade, did the same stuff, and got the same lecture about how middle school will be so much harder.

Then the middle school teachers would lecture us on how much harder high school is, and how we better shape up at the end of our three years or we'll be toast. Yeah, right.
