Does it really matter? Admittedly its absurd that anyone gives a damn about nudity, but what does it really mean for it to be an m? If i had kids i'd still let them play it. Its immature to care about nudity. We've all seen it before, it's all natural. It's not going to hurt anyone. Thexare got it right, the violence is much more important. Would you rather your kids emulate a video-game and go murder, or emulate a video-game and become a nudist?

It is a rating system. Hence sometimes, as a system, it may not seem perfect. However, it is far better that these rules be laid down by the industry so as not to overly limit its creative drive and ability. And it is far better for the state to enforce rules that ensure that these MATURE games don't fall into IMMATURE hands.

Honestly, would you rather a self-regulated industry that doesn't need government intervention or would you rather something as muddled and bizzare as the movie rating system? INTENSE BIBLICAL VIOLENCE...wtf!? I mean isn't "brutality" descriptive enough?

I think they were thinking "hey, we got away with being whiny dipshits over teh GTA incident, let's bitch about other games too!", honestly. And I think it's a pretty shitty reflection on our contry when you can attack people with swords and axes in a game without it being an M, but if you see a boob suddenly the rating spikes...

I could really lengthen either of those statements into full-blown rants, but I'm leaving 'em as is since I'm kinda tired from work today. =/

The thing is, the nudity was provided by the developers. It took a third party mod to unlock it, but it was there. Which befuddles me, because I can't imagine why the creators would need to provide that sort of thing when, first, they knew the kind of trouble it would lead to, and second, an equivalent mod would certainly be released by the community within a brief period of the game's release.

yes the rating was changed to m. we all know this now. but it is wrong, and needs to be back at T.

the game, itself, contains no objectionable content out-of-the-box. (well, there was the necrophiliac in the skingrad alchemist, but thats not really that bad, she just asks about the fine for necrophelia)

The rating was changed because of user made content -- content not endorsed by or related ot bethesda in any way. it is as if I wrote something on a newspaper and sued the newspaper publisher for it. The way the mod community is growing, from its humble beginnings on the atari 2600, to the dreamcast, and now all major consoles (and PC), they might as well stamp every game with a preliminary M.
