Unfortunately I don't own an e-Reader, SMA4, a link cable, or two GBA's (I have a GBA and a DS, however the DS doesn't have link cable support). Is there a way to play these on an emulator?
Btw, I've been to your site before Caitsith2. |

As far as e-reader hacking had gone, I have actually created printable switch cards for the US region. There is one glitch though. That is, DON'T activate ALL 7 of the swithches, regardless of the region, otherwise, when you try to get into the menu to scan other powerups or deactivate some of the switches, the game WILL lock up.
You can find all of the hacked for US region printable cards at http://www.caitsith2.com/ereader/sma4.htm. The tools needed to print these cards can be found at http://www.caitsith2.com/ereader/devtools.htm. The only thing that keeps the level cards from having a readable name is the fact that the encryption part that follows recompression has not yet been figured out. This unfortunately means that until that part does get figured out, I will not be able to reencode the cards with an english level name. The levels are playable though. |

!
Nintendo should rerelease SMA4, the e-Reader and all the cards. In every region. But instead of needing 2 GBAs, it's an adapter that connects between SMA4 and the GBA. That would be really nice... |

Since we are talking about SMA4, how about hacking eReader switches? We already got the ones for SMB2 vegetables and SMW fire ball effects, but there are at least five switch cards released only in Japan.
This one works in both the main and eReader levels. It doubles points and replaces most enemies, like Piranha Plants into Venus Fire Traps. This one makes Luigi act different in the main game, more like in SMB2. This one works in both the main and eReader levels. It replaces 1-Up Mushrooms with SMW Moons. This one slows down eReader level time. And this one shortens the P-Meter in the eReader levels. I got these pics from this link. I wonder if there were other switches programed into the game... Especially since there's Koopa Clown Cars and SMW Goals in there. These switches have potential. |

Or ASM hack it to read levels from the ROM or another source. It's been done. However, the save file is the easiest way. |

You can either attempt to emulate the e-Reader and devise some format to store cards in, or back up the save from a real cartridge. |

Just wondering, can you download and play SMA4 e-card levels on an emulator? |

SMW Goomba is an e-level sprite, yes. There are many other sprites from other mario games including SMB, SMB2, SMW and SMW2. I posted a sprite list (as well as other useless information) in an SMA4 thread earlier here... I remember someone mentioning the klown kar, but I don't remember a sprite or anything, probably not used and is as The Kins has stated. |

Yeah, I found these ages ago.
I also posted them on MFGG, as far as I remember. Still interesting though. |

I think the SMW Goomba is in a eReader level. The Klown Kar must have been an abandoned idea for an eReader level boss. |

Been looking through some of the ROMs I have in YY-CHR, and found something interesting in SMA4: the Koopa Clown Car, SMW Goomba and another sprite I couldn't identify. Does anyone know why? (I didn't bother to scroll down further for fear of seeing a Banzai Bill sprite in the ROM) |
