Subs for live,yo! |

"I like dubs better, because the acting in the original japanese tends to be craptacular (though this is not often evident as it's somewhat difficult to tell when you don't understand what they're saying)"
x). What you'll come to realize when you understand more is how much little neat stuff that can't be translated is lost when it is in fact translated and how good most voice actors are. Subs make you better at reading and presents the anime (or whatever) to you the way it was meant to be seen or heard. |

Gimme them subs; at least 99.99% of dubs can't live to the real deals... |

I usually like the originals, but there a a rare few good dubs, like trigun. |

Originally posted by Clockworkz Honestly, I love FLCL's dub. I also don't see anything wrong with Cowboy Bebop's dub (and a lot of other shows out there that people are complaining about), and frankly, Ranma 1/2's dub isn't too bad either. |

I go with subtitled since it provides the original way the anime was presented, and people who know English can understand as well.
I do not find subtitles annoying since they are mostly brief and not more than an average of 7 words at once. This allows me to watch the anime with a glimpse now and then at the bottom of the screen There is one exception...if you like GITSAC or an anime with a lot of dialogue, i would recommend dubbed simply because the reading gets very annoying. So, yea...1 more vote for subbed. |

Trigun was pure kickassery in both English and Japanese.
Subs until, if I ever do, learn japanese, and then I'll probably still have subs, just so I can make sure I'm not misunderstanding anything. Also, you get subs a lot faster than dubs, like Bleach for instance. |

I prefer subtitles, except in Trigun's case. That was the single best English dub I've ever heard. Almost better than the Japanese version. |

I personally like either Subs or Raw Japanese. Mainly because as a budding Japanese student, any opportunity to listen to the language is always welcome. However, a lot of stuff is far too complicated for me to watch in raw Japanese. One day, one day. |

It also REALLY pisses me off how they only play the 2nd opening. All 4 were equally awesome and representative of the part of the series with good transitioning and thats a really rare thing to come by. |

Both, though I tend to watch dubbed anime most often. I like changing the language selection, watching the original, then watching the English version. |

Originally posted by Jin Dogan Not to forget Sarah Strange with too many other people... Anyways, they probably prefer it because Funimation actually scrounged some decent talent with this one. Al's voice is pretty close to the Japanese one in terms of tone...and the expression alone throughout some of the eps is a pretty good interpret from the original subs. |

Originally posted by Valcion Why did people like that dub? I hated it. Maybe it's because Ed had a woman do his voice? Nubs. They've been doing that forever for young boys and still do it with characters like Naruto and Luffy. The dub just doesn't fit for me. In my opinion, like other art forms, anime is best left in its original state. Otherwise it just looks silly. |

subs 100% for me...i'll never watch an anime dubbed on my own free will ever again..i like the original japanese simply because (1) i'm gradually understanding it (2) the americanization process never goes anything right and lastly, (3) the dignity of the anime is preserved... two classic cases where the the dignity of the anime was lost: Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors |

Some dubs (i.e the first series of Yu Gi Oh, speed racer, gigantor) are ridiculous as fuck to listen to.
some are good. Like FMA's dub for example. same thing goes for subtitels. |

Subs, the most dubs sound like crap |
Kailieann Posts: 76/808 |
I prefer raw Japanese. If not, then subtitles (to which I will pay little attention). Then dubs.
I don't mind most dubs, but I prefer Japanese. English is such a stupid language. |
Hiryuu Posts: 169/2480 |
Subbed, but if I can both. It's a nice comparison to the original most times, if nothing else...though most fanboys that want straight from Jap won't even consider looking at dubbed animé unless it's the only way to see it (and even then...). |

I don't really mind either. As long as I havn't seen the subs of the dubbed anime. When I watched Naruto in english, I didn't like it. Although when I watch dubs like Inuyasha and Yu-gi-oh, I don't have a problem with them. |
