Yes. Technically, the only difference between the two is the storage medium (flash memory vs. magnetic platter), AFAIK they share the same protocols and whatnot.

I know this may be slightly off-topic, but I guess it would be pointless to start a new thread for just one question - when its still related to this thread.

You won't physically damage the stick, you just might corrupt the filesystem. Also, you can turn off disk caching, which makes it a bit slower but removes the need to eject before you remove it.

Something like this happend to me a while ago and it would not work on mine or my friends computers. It turned out to be faulty. I got my money back also..

So my advice would be to go test in on your friends computers and hopefully try and get your money back..

try using another USB port, either on your computer or another one.

Also, do not pull out the USB stick from the computer without ejecting the USB stick first. usually, when you plug in a USB stick in windows, an icon in the system try appears with an green arrow and a card that may be discernable. Click on that icon and properly eject the stick. If you pull the stick before properly ejecting it, you may fry something on the USB stick

Hey gang,
I'm having a problem with my USB stick on my laptop. It was working a couple of days ago and now it doesn't work today. The laptop doesn't identify it and when it does, the USB stick is identified as "ADIR ROM". What should I do? Should I get a new USB stick?
