I don't know about 98 Degrees, but we did get that stupid Newlyweds show here. Personally I just don't get the whole appeal of having such a celebrity appear at the school unless it means getting out of a whole lot of work.

I realy hope you aren't talking about the gamesho Newlyweds, because that was absoloutely hilarious

Is that the show where newlyweds had to answer questions about each other?

I fail to see the humor

Well, that's The Newlywed Game so... probably not. I mean, it was no I'm Telling!

...There's classes that I wouldn't want to get out of, you know. I mean, say you weren't doing anything boring in those classes... I mean, take the high road. Don't torture yourself.

I get out of English and Global History, for the record.

And....?

You like those subjects? Hate them? Still don't know the true value of this character rockin' up at your school here....

We won a contest

And I'm just saying those are my 2 claasses getting the ixnay for Nick Lachey.

Yes, I know you won a contest, but you've shown no real interest in this person per se, nor does it seem that you're getting out of classes you particularly loathe.

I am wondering what benefit this is of to you? You keep saying you won a contest, but do you really care about the prize? I know if I won the contest I wouldn't care too much about it at all. It's like the time that I won a raffle when I was a teenaged girl and got a blokey book about sheds/garages.

The benefit it that I get to get out of class, of course

Hey... don't knock the guy so hard. I'll give him credit for putting up with Jessica Simpson's stupidity and immaturity for as long as he did.

What guy wouldn't put up with it if it meant he got to bang that?

Me. I don't know where she's been. (stocks up on penicillin)

Write your sick note to get out of school yet?

Not yet

*hopes he brings Jessica*

...why would he do that? I mean, you know, with the divorce, and the new girlfriend, and the Bam Margera...

He can bring Bam if he wants

Seeing as Jessica's already had Bam (allegedly) I don't think they're on those kinds of terms...

You tell us. Two periods varies greatly based on the individual's schedule. I've had blocks of 2 periods that I wouldn't WANT to get out of, because they're ridiculously easy.

...2 periods worth?

I still suggest that you come up with a sick note or some excuse. Even if it's only for the concert.

Don't turn the thread into 18+ material, guys.

I can't remember too many celebs at school. University, yes, but they all come to give talks and I usually have no interest in said talks. Don't exactly have a burning ambition to see Ralph Nader.

Ahhh I dont even know who that guy is

Desmond Llewellyn (Q, from the Bond films) came to my school before in 1999 to give a speech and to thank the school for our charity work. Seemed like such a nice person, and he earned a lot of respect from me and everyone else for what he said.

When he died literally a couple of weeks later in a car crash, that pretty much upset everyone, because after he came to the school, we all felt like we knew him personally.

And that pretty much sucked.
