Sorry I meant to say there is no problem with it.

As for adding a boss to level 6, maybe changing the boss screen value in one of the dialogs (maybe level properties) will allow a boss. (I've added bosses to non-boss stages before)

No. One of the CV hacks done by Thaddeus allows you to fight dracula on level 4 although you do end up fighting Drac's ghost right after beating Drac's human form per usual and the game will continue after that level is completed.

So, that's a yes to the part of my quote that you addressed then. (Because in no way did I say you couldn't move bosses)

While were on the subject of Castlevania, does anyone know if it is possible to increase the number of rooms in a level? I'm hoping there is, and I wouldn't mind if it meant decreasing the number of rooms of another level.

I think I got the game to let me fight a boss on the bridge, it's inside the clocktower that is wasn't working properly. I haven't touched Retold II in a while now, needed a break, so I'm not really sure anymore.

Dr. Mario: That's definitely the graphics, you must've copied them to the wrong place, I replaced level 1-3's bosses fine.

I was going to type up a bunch of garbage and say I found it out, but I realised that Dan already knew it, since Stake alters the same data bank I found. I tested it myself. I altered the boss byte, put a giant bat at the castle entrance, got the ball, walked across a slightly glitched map, then advanced to just inside the castle. But as for level 6, the only boss it probably has graphical support for is the bat.

In addition, there are several other 19 byte banks nearby in the rom (for 19 stages), including one that says what stage plays what song, which means I don't have to worry about the second half of level 4 playing the music from level 2 anymore.

I dunno, I tried slapping Death at the end of level 1 just to test it out, and I put his GFX where I thought they should be and he end up using the Satanic Bat's GFX, that's probably just a case of me having to re-organize Death though, but I still need to figure out how to move Dracula. It won't end the game, optomon I already tested that, he just acts like a normal boss when you beat his second form.

Dracula has 2 forms, so maybe he's added via a routine. What is Death's sprite value? I've noticed that usually enemies have 2 sprite values, one which is used for distributing amonst the levels, and the other which is each sprite's base, with things like projectiles being other sprites and stuff. The only problem I see is that if it's done this way, even if you make Death the level 6 boss, you still have the werewolf form that would appear after him, unless you disabled it somehow.

Does killing Dracula automatically end the game? I've never tried, I've moved the other bosses with no problems, it's as easy as coping the graphics to the other level and changing the enemy that appears in the boss room.

I could not, however, add a boss to level 6, I'm not sure why.

I'm trying to figure out how it would be possible to switch Dracula to level 5, and Death to the last boss in the original Castlevana. I've been looking around and I've come up with nothing so far. I was wondering if anyone else has any insight on this or not.
