Reminds me of that good old FAQ quiz that was suggested for newbies. They'd have to read the FAQ and answer "yes I have read" to successfully registeror "no I have not read" to fail.
But in the FAQ, it would say to click no. BRILLIANT ISNT IT |

And what happens if more keep coming? I think banning a continuous stream would be little better on the mods/admins than how it is right now. |

Ban them? |

It's totally not going to solve the "problem", because what's to stop people just clicking the 'I agree' or whatever it is that lets them access the forum, without actually looking at the stickies? |

It is not the fact that they are asking questions, it is the questions that they ask are either:
1) Stupid or 2) Already answered this suggestion is sure to solve number 2. |

I think you should hunt down all newbies, and burn them at the stake. How dare they ask questions on a messageboard? |

When someone registers, they should get a one-time only message when they first click on "SMW Hacking" That says to look at all the stickies. When they acknowledge that their question is not answered in the stickies, open the rest of the board to them.
What do you think? I think the main problem with the board is that stickies are ignored so hopefully this idea would get users to read the stickies first and foremost before letting them post a thread. |
