And that's good of you. I've just noticed in a few places that they try and jam the help file at the person, which can get a bit confusing at times.
This topic was pretty good, though. |

The thing is though, I didn't jump on him. If someone asks an honest question, I'll generally answer it (I did this time). |

The problem with help files, as I've found, is that they can be a bit TOO descriptive. It uses too many technical terms and treats all people trying to read it like they already know what the hell "Map16" and "ExGFX" are, even if you're at the section of the help file that thinks it's telling you what they are, for some of us, it's still hard to understand.
Some people are able to read lots quickly, and pick it up and understand it perfectly almost instantly, whereas others need people to describe it to them, they need to use pictures, and they need to re-do the same mistake over and over again, until something finally clicks. This doesn't necessarily mean they're unintelligent; they may have trouble grasping how to do certain things in the beginning, but eventually they'll understand and they could become potential masterminds behind said subject. It's happened quite a few times for myself, even if it's not quite all in the hacking world. And, thanks to asking this board, I now know how to insert Blocktool Blocks and make my own ExGFX, even if I've only used it so far for making backgrounds, but we should give everyone a few chances. I'm probably going to get banned for sounding like an idiot and having dozens of people jumping in at me, screaming "lol ur r stupid, u only kno how 2 use simple exgfx an bloktool lets throw stuf @ him", and I've felt that same way with other people, like if someone doesn't understand something in math (I'm good at pretty much all math, except for *shudders* trig...) and I try to explain it to them, but it takes so long and I describe it to them using the smallest terms I can, yet they still cease to grasp it. I'm just saying that you should keep letting people try, as the help files aren't all that helpful for the most basic stuff ever, and not everyone's had years of experience and is able to prefectly decipher the help files like you have, so let them have a chance. Try to describe it to them as stupidly as you can. Sorry about going on and on about this, I seem to have trouble stopping when I get on a roll, but this'll be my last paragraph. Say someone wants to know how to add an exit halfway through their level, then you keep bringing up confusing stuff about "inserting secondary entrances and exits", which can't make any sense to them in any way. If it's a question that you think may mean they're new to the world of hacking, try do describe all the high-tech (or even low-tech, by YOUR standards... ) terms, giving them time to let it all sink in. |

If you mean add more levels to be available on the OW, you can't, unless you know ASM I believe. All of the TEST levels can be used as secondaries, but never main. |

Technically, everyone was a newbie once. Not necessarily a n00b. Hopefully you can go beyond this... not-so-impressive start and be an interesting contributor to the community.
(Difference between n00b and newbie: Newbies are the ones who very clearly and obviously make attempts at learning the things on their own and improving. They're defined by when they arrived. n00bs are the ones who don't develop; they could join 2 days prior or have been around since the start of the community, they're still the same.) Just a note: if you think there's even a SLIGHT chance you can figure it out without others' help, try your best to do so. Only after that should you post it on the forums. |

I finally figured it out no thanks to the flaming rants going on around here. Please be advised that everyone here was a n00b once. And everyone here has made mistakes on these forums on another. I simply see this as a mistake I made for me to mature out of n00bdem |

Somehow we have to keep the n00bs out... |

This thread is not locked even though the poster is clearly an idiot who couldn't glean information from a detailed help file. That is what's hard to understand. |

You find what screen your pipe is on.
You find what level you want it to go to. You go into the add/modify/delete level exits dialog. You flip down to the proper screen number. You type in the level number. What is not to get... |

Otherwise, I refer you to Alastor's post, which is actually an excerpt of The Faq, read it, while you have your copy of lunar magic open and follow it step-by-step... |
