You can, but there's some bugs. Being able to use a joypad, on the other hand...

I've used the five-minute demo of his emulator, but if I recall you can't control games with the keyboard, which was a big problem for me.

Practically every time I use No$gmb I find myself wishing the debugger had some other simple feature, or at least didn't have one of however many bugs.

Well... things like Nocash are typically sold to developers, which is a slightly more profitable market. They're the ones who are actually planning on making money, so they're more likely to put it down to begin with. It's actually not too bad a strategy; the debugger in No$Gmb seemed rather full-featured, at least.

Emulators aren't illegal, free (libre or gratis) or costly proprietary. Granted he might not get a very good name in the emulation community, it's currently legal in most countries.

Shareware emulators make me either laugh or cry depending how well they're actually selling.

...yet that hasn't stopped Marat Fayzullin from doing the same thing for YEARS.

Thanks for your input. I do know about that website. It seems like a fair emulator, but unless I can find it for free, I won't mess with it. For $30 I can almost buy an actual cd-i system. Plus the emu is incomplete. I looked at the title support list, and many of the games listed show problems. Also it doesn't support the actual disks. If it were complete, then I'd probably pay the $30. Then again, if it were that complete Phillips would have sued him already. But it is all that's out there, and I appreciate the efforts of the creator.

The first thing I was able to find (via a google search for "cd-i emulator"), is this. It sounds like it'd be what you're looking for, but unfortunately, unless you pay something like $30, you're limited to downloading a version which'll only allow you to play whatever game for 3 minutes or so If you ask me, that guy's simply begging for legal trouble by doing such a thing, but that's not the point.

It stands to reason that you'd be able to find somewhere to get the full version without having to pay, but the only thing I was able to find was a thread on another message board, where someone told people that if they wanted the full version of the emulator to PM him. That can be found here.

Anyways, you can always give the limited version a try to see if it's what you're looking for. I don't see why it wouldn't be, but there's no way to tell right now

Barring that, I'd suggest looking around this site, to see if you can find anything that'll help That is, provided it's not the site that you found already

Hey, I have some old Phillips CD-I disks I'd love to try and play. I found one main site for a CD-I emulator, but it can't boot original CD-I disks, won't support many ISO's, and Hasn't been updated for a while. Does anyone here know of another emu for CD-I , or any other system with some loophole that will allow it to magically boot CD-I disks? I doubt it, but maybe someone knows something I don't.
