I'll be trying this out later

They should really port Doom to the DS, the touch screen is the perfect aiming system, although I would like to see the game slightly updated to allow you to aim vertically (Pretty much every sourceport allows for this, so I see no reason they couldn't do it).

respectfully withdrawn, as there'd be no point to arguing

Why can't Mario die already? People still enjoy it. While I think the GBA port is a bit of a silly idea, if it sells, they'll make it. I'm sure it still has a VERY strong fanbase, given the movie and the continued (but somewhat sporadic) sequels.

EDIT: Because I tend to not write everything I think (posting too fast; sorry), I never really was much for FPSes in general, but this does look kinda interesting. I didn't actually realize they changed the blood in it, though...

That's awesome. Now if I hack doom and play it on an emulator, it'll be just as if I were playing a hacked version of the original doom! Because despite what everyone says, Doom hacking wasn't already old by the end of 1994. It wasn't.

Yeah, man! nobody edits old games anymore!

Er, Doom modding is still going very strong and has been since the source was released. Just browse www.doomworld.com or www.newdoom.com for all the goodness available.

Not to downplay his hard work, but...wait...for the love of god, there was a GBA version? Hasn't that game been ported to enough systems yet? Why can't it just die already? *shakes fist in John Romero's general direction*

A Doom modder called Kaiser has figured out all the deep inner workings of Doom's GBA port. A while back he released a map importer. Now, he's fixed the whole "green blood and censorship" thing.

Grn2Red is a tool that modifies the censored textures and sprites back into its oringinal form (based on the jaguardoom resources).
