I like to bite ice cream with my front teeth.

But then I don't think my teeth are sensitive; they only hurt when going from hot to cold or the other way (ie, ice cream to hot coffee, hot food to ice cream).

But I did used to be annoyed in high school when I had braces and other people would eat chewy lollies in front of me in a melodramatic manner cause they knew I couldn't.

That's still not normal though.

I brush between two/three times a day depending on my schedule, but I always take my time with it.

(Wow, this thread morphed pretty quickly...)

If you constantly have something, it'll seem normal. Much like how the roof of your mouth tends to suddenly feel so much less smooth after wearing retainers for a while; if you always have that film on them, you won't notice it until it's gone for a while.

Thin enamel. Join the club.

I'm guessing by "not brushing teeth" he probably means he only does it in the morning or at night because film DOES build up on them.

I've managed to arbitrarily chip a good 4-5 teeth. One was me falling off a bike and therefore understandable, but the rest were when I was chewing. Odd.

Cold things hurt my front teeth, but that's about it. I regularly eat popcorn kernels, and they don't even hurt...

Ice Cream and Popsicles can hurt like hell for me.

I got tackled once, and my jaw snapped closed, slightly chipping my front bottom teeth. It just came off the front, and isn't even noticable.

However, it hurts like hell when I eat cold things.

Eh, that sounds like the enamel thing rather than sensitivity. I use an overpowered plug-in Oral B DEATHRAY SUPER OMEGA toothbrush to clean my teeth, and never have had any cavities. My teeth are blindingly white, too... without those dang $40 strips. However, it hurts my gums.

From my experience, 'normal' sensitivity involves biting into popsicles with your front teeth and... well. Hot things almost never bother my teeth, unless they're hot enough to instantly burn up my mouth. So I've never had what you do... usually I eat things that are hotter than the hubs of hell without a problem.

Honestly I've never been to the dentist once, in my entire life. I've also never had a cavity, or a toothache, and my teeth are all straight - but I brush my teeth, floss, mouthwash - and I do it morning and night. My teeth are still pretty sensitive to hot and cold, so it may not be because you haven't been brushing your teeth - but I would start, if I were you.

At this rate, you won't have nothing to complain about in several years once your teeth start getting infected and falling off.

Best of luck learning how to eat with a straw.

You just have sensitive teeth. The enamel must have worn off somehow. The roots of your teeth consist of nerves and when the enamel wears off, you start to feel a slight pain in your teeth.

Maybe you should see a dentist about check-ups. It could be periodontis or a tooth inflammation.

You ever bite into a fresh cooked Corn on the Cob, and your teeth start to hurt really bad? Why is this? Theres no feeling inside your teeth, so why does this happen?

It sucks, because I have this perfectly butter/salted Cob here, and it is too damn hot to bite into
