Heh heh... Sorry. Just curious, that's all... |

I swear, it's like you all think you're mods
This is still open because it was an honest question, and unlike SOME people, he cared to give detail about what was going on around, causing me to not particularly want to go on a murder spree. |

Don't make fun of him, dudes... We were all new once, remember?
And here are a few tips: 1.) Okay, about your pictures; shrink them, put em on an image hosting site, and insert the image's link with Ctrl+M... For christ's sake lol it's a lot easier than clicking them. (Some of us have dialup... Weak...) 2.) Don't use so many sprites; and if you are, don't put them all around the goal post! That's your problem! Remember that the goal tape is a sprite, too. Just like having too many windows up at once will slow your computer down, the same thing goes for roms. You gotta keep it simple! (That doesn't mean make the level simple; if you want challenge, put the buttload of enemies in, but not all in the same area, and not all by the goal. Remember; objects are fun too!) 3.) You might want to make your level a little neater. You can see the little bush-like tiles under the goal... Move the goal down a notch and put some cement blocks over those tiles. They make it ugly-looking. 4.) Note that walking over the goal post will make Mario complete the level; haven't you ever tried flying over them in the old days? It doesn't work! (Most of the time, at least.) 5.) Doesn't Tab take snapshots in ZSNES? And doesn't Lunar Magic have "File>Levels>Export Level to Bitmap?" And yes, these guys were right; it's a vertical level. But if you don't understand how to add an exit-enabled pipe tile, make it lead to a seperate level (preferably a "TEST" level without the objects) and adding a goal for it, then you are classified as a beginner. There's nothing wrong with that, but you should probably tell people that you are in the first place; it makes things a lot easier. And I don't care if these questions were answered before me; I felt like doing something other than yelling at him. There; multiple problems solved at once without insults. Was that so hard? (Wow... I'm such a wuss... I just had to solve that nicely... Oh well.) |

Why the HELL would you want a goal point like that for anyways!?!?!?
The 'standing above the ground with cut off bushes' look isn't very professional. If you'll notice in the real game, THEY PLACE THE LAND OVER THE BOTTOM PART SO IT WILL LOOK RIGHT!! So, as for the goal tape, I believe it's been answered before. I think I'll be like some of those people I hate which sounds a little something like this: *clearing throat* "You suck; you're level sucks; you're hack sucks; and you suck more; and I've seen roadkill that can design a level better than you" Now, that'll really motivate you to continue SMW Hacking! Go ahead and laugh! |

Originally posted by Remoga Sanctum No, they are working in vertical level's as well but I wouldn't suggest using the goal tapes in a vertical level, because's Mario's momevent's freeze's up after touching the goal and that looks weird. That only makes sense in addition with the goal point sphere. |

I'm thinking that ANY kinds of goal tapes dont work in a vertical level. |

Originally posted by NightKev Press F1, and you'll see what to do from there. To link to a horozontal level, use a screen exit and an exit enabled pipe. By the way, fix the messed up tiles by going to Options - Change Other Properties, and selecting the Layer 2 (BG) Scrolling Rate to have a V-Scroll of Slow or None (preferably slow). |

Link to a horizontal level...?
And I forgot the zsnes screenshot feature, what is it again...? |

DON'T USE SO MANY SPRITES! THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG!
And take better screenshots! ZSNES has a screenshot feature built in, use it. Edit: Thinking about it, it's probably that it's in a vertical level, actually. Link to a horizontal level with the exit, and that probably won't happen. |
