"We are de weeners, of Eurovision, we are we are!!"
Loved that song!!!!
Anyone who thought they were serious couldn't hve watched them on stage with the bald headed bloke going mad.
The Uk gave them 10 points.

Finland were also good, I think the viewing public were tired of the political voting and took the mick a bit

The album with all 38 entries is on bit torrent.

Well, I think the whole thing about Lithuania, is that some people just didn't get it. If you take them 100% seriously, sure, their lyrics are arrogant. But if you don't take them seriously, but rather as a tongue-in-cheek parody, it's extremely funny. I guess some people are just stupid, though. Lithuania were actually booed on stage (first and only time I've heard that in EuroVision history), so the audience must have thought they were serious in their singing.

The two ways of interpreting Lithuania's song also showed from the votes from nearly all countries. Lithuania had hardly any top scores, but yet received points from nearly all countries. So their song really appealed to some parts of the population over all of Europe, while it was not well-liked enough by all to peak anywhere.

Norway sent a ballad, called "Alvedansen" (The Elf Dance). Didn't do too good. It's a standard rule, though, that whenever we send a slow song, we don't do too good, so I don't know why we persist in sending those. Must be because of that one-year success in 1995. The only thing that surprised me was that Ireland didn't give us any points, when our ballad was very proto-typical Irish.

I must watch clips. I heard Lithuania had extremely... arrogant lyrics... and Finland didn't fit the Eurovision image at all yet won easily. (See, Eurovision's getting a lot more coverage in Canada than years previous because of Lordi.)

I can't wait for NBC to do their Eurovision contest (maybe this year?) where they'll do it with all 50 American states. That'll be fun as hell.

What did Norway send?

...but no, I did not vote for Finland.

Anyways, is it just me, or was the general participation in the EuroVision quite horrid this year? Except Lithuania, which was teh , there wasn't much good at all. Sure, Finland was ok, but they would have gone no way with the same song and no costumes... In general, a disappointing EuroVision this year. Except for, of course, "vote for the winners! we are the winners!".. Just can't get that song out of my head!
