As usual, left to right, top to bottom:
1) Super Mario 4 has been done 897589342875984356 times (and no, IIII is NOT acceptable in place of IV ). Mario's palette is kinda strange too. 2) Nothing particularly special. Don't see a lot of outdoor castles though. 3) The water should have more than one colour. 4) Is that a 3up moon on that cloud? If so it's way too easy to get. 5) You seem to have used the wrong objects for your ground. Use the ones that don't have edges. The camera's also quite low. 6) Looks fairly difficult. The camera could stand to be moved up here too. 7) Hey, a puzzle that doesn't appear to suck at first glance! 8) Cool. 9) Hm, that should be an interesting level. Quite a promising hack you've got here so far. |

I agree with RT-55J about the Title screen. What will happen, if you press Start? The File Select comes up in the same place at the Title and that's not very good.
I also don't like the idea with the low time limit, I think a level should be to beat without getting the timer below 100. (You could change that in some of the later levels of course, but right from the beginning I just don't like that) So, for the screenshots itself: From what I can judge just from the screens, the level design looks really good and interesting, very good work about that! I'm sure I will check this out, when it comes out. (...but I still hope, you decide to give a higher time limit in the game...) |

My biggest complaint is about the title screen. I suggest that you move the thing in the center up about 8 tiles so Mario isn't always covered by it. I don't see any glaring flaws that anybody hasn't mentioned already in the pictures (although I do suggest adding a bit of time to the timers). |

Why JPG for screenshots? Not too much was lost here, but... it could be.
Also, I don't particularly care for the green bridge, but that's just personal preference anyway. Otherwise, it looks pretty interesting. |

Originally posted by 4matsy Hehe, yeah, I decided to keep the timer sort of low. Sorta makes it harder to find secrets and whatnot. Plus, it adds to the gameplay IMO. My first hack had an unlimited timer... and it was bogus =x The screenshot of the level with 86 or whatever seconds on the clock, later on in the level you get Yoshi and gobble up some green berries =) Hooray for orange-overalled Mario! |

Posting in list format just for the hell of it:
- I actually kinda like the new orange overalls for Mario, though now you've got me wondering what his fire palette looks like... - The hack does look good, especially considering the lack of ExGfx. I really don't see any glaring flaws, in either the graphics or the level design... - Only one of those 8 action shots shows a timer above 200...is this just a coincidence, or is time going to be somewhat tight throughout the hack? (I personally hate the timer no matter how long/short the levels are...if I ever do a SMW hack I'm gonna kill the damn thing ) - "IIII" is actually perfectly acceptable in place of "IV", as far as I can tell...I once saw a clock with IIII on it. |

I like your OW. It's unique, and very nicely done
The title screen looks pretty nice too, but yeah....don't for get to change the III to IV. As for the level screenies, they look nice too. I recommend using some ExGFX when you get better |

Ahhh, this is the kind of feedback I was looking for; wouldn't have noticed that on my own =P. Thanks, I'll be sure to change it a lil' bit. 3. Shhh, it's garbage! I probably won't get the urge to change it for a while, so try not to let it burn your eyes out of their sockets. =) |

Why is Mario's overalls orange? I don't think orange is such a good color.
Also fix the colors in the background in srcreenshots 4 and 5. They are too bright. And of course, the title screen needs a some work. You can start by fixing the Roman Numeral. Number 4 in Roman Numeral is IV, not IIII. |

Harro there, I've finished the first world of my hack... Awesome, I know, so I thought I'd share some screenshots. I'll probably have a demo once I finish the second world, because right now I haven't really done much with the overworld.
Also, just pretend you don't see the title screen in the first screenshot, because I know it looks like garbage =P. So from what you can see, am I working in the right direction? Just looking for some quick feedback. (Let's just pray that I linked the image correctly) |
