Hm, there should be combat.

Prologue:

Talk to Porre resident (Ms. Elisa)
Go to Medina talk to girl in inn/pub (bandeu's wife)
Talk to renault (knight in cathedral)
Get Lucca and go to castle (Crono's house)

Things pick up after that

Umm, am I missing something here? Ive talked to every single NPC in the demo and nothing happens. There is combat in this demo correct? I was expecting more of an action demo.

By the way, I've posted at romhacking.net and Zophar, but if anyone else has a recommendation for where we can post the news, it is very welcome.

Blackhole,

Sent ya a PM on how to move on.

It is hard to emulate but we are getting ALOT better. It used to take forever to populate a place with enemies now it's a simple copy paste. Same with treasure chests.

Yes, when I started out making Crimson Echoes, I thought it'd be relatively easy to emulate Chrono Trigger's pace. It wasn't until a few months ago that I realized that paid professionals made the first game, and that we're just a bunch of fans with no experience in constructing these things. So I think the patch may be a little rough, and the text a little heavy. It doesn't help that the plot of the game is now in question, while we wait for someone to finish scenario writing. But hopefully the second demo will be really enjoyable notwithstanding the inexperience of its architects.

I must say this is pretty impressive, especially seeing as it is the first considerable Chrono Trigger hack released after all the time.

One thing though... I am stuck in 11998 BC. Where exactly should I go after defeating Dalton's golem for the first time?
I generally suggest you build more hang-ups for the plot procession. Out of the time I played it, I spent at least 50% trying to remember one-time NPC dialogues or guessing where the story would continue.

No worries, the first demo is included in the second demo. The ending is slightly different too.

Wow, CT is one of my fav. rpg's ever. I've never played the first "Crimson Echoes", will that matter in terms of story?

If so i'll try and play the other first if it's possible.

Hey all,

Hope you enjoy the demo. Feedback/bug reports are needed to make the project worthy of its name. So please feel free to post here, at the compendium or email crimsonechoes@gmail.com.

Known bugs:
Priority issues on a certain vista
Magus Power Glitch (he levels up once and his power is **...not sure how to fix)
Sun Keep is gone (sigh couldn't fix that either)
Text if you sell the sword

btw, the coliseum that is in this demo is simply a port of my old coliseum. I didn't debug it at all, just ran through easy a few times so there will probably be issues with it.

If you want to help (Always always wanted as well as needed), email the address above. Mappers/Spriters/Coders/Plot all is welcome.

Enjoy it, I think it came out pretty well

Yeah, yeah, here it is. Straight from the Compendium:

~

Bet you weren't expecting this one! The Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes project is releasing its second demo! Three chapters of the game are now playable (versus the simple prologue of the last game), featuring new areas, scenes, events, characters and story as the rich world of Crimson Echoes unfolds. Nearly every era is accessible, and a host of other surprises await. I'm really reluctant to reveal much more, as you must experience it for yourself! At a minimum, the demo will last 30-40 minutes; at maximum, if you talk to all the NPCs and immerse yourself in the world of the game, it can last up to 3 hours or more. This is truly a new Chrono Trigger adventure; if you'd like to follow the team on another mission through time, jack in and download the patch! The instructions for playing are in the Readme. Below are screenshots (click to view) and the link to the patch and feedback thread. Stay tuned for an interview in a couple weeks.
