Layer 1 tiles can use any colours, 0 to F.
Layer 2 tiles can only use colours 8 to F.
Animations can only use colours 0 to 7.

If you draw a tile made up of only the colour 3, and insert it as a Layer 2 tile, that tile, in game, will use colour B (3+8). Likewise, if the colour B is in an animated overworld tile, it will show up in game as colour 3.

It's confusing, I know, and it took me a while to understand it. But hey, not many people have spent as much time as I have with overworld GFX.

What about you? Did you get it?

See ya

I had problems with tiles changing colour when I edited the overworld too, never did figure it out. Two different tiles used the same palette but had totally different colours.

As cory21391 already said, the easiest way would be to use 8x8 tiles for the pyramid with an invisible level dot in it. If you don't reveal it, it will stay invisible all the time and it looks like the pyramid is the level and not a yellow dot.

I think this would work, so try it and see. Draw it in 4 8x8 tiles, then put the tiles in like you would normal 8x8 OW tiles, to make land and stuff. Then just put an invisible yellow level tile (NOT the one in water) on or right near it. You WILL have the yellow level circle there, though. The other thing might be to find what GFX file loads the 16x16 tiles for levels and use one you don't plan to use, maybe a ghost house or.... I don't know, try and see

I'll try to do it myself tonight.

Hi everybody... I customized some 8x8 tile for the OW graphics... I would like to put onto it also some 16x16 tiles (e.g. to create pyramid levels and stuff like that).. How do I do that?

See ya
