GREAT GAME i must say. I especially like the part in 2-1 where you have to upward stomp the parakoopa. I also liked the part in 1-2 where you had to jump the flagpole to get to the warp zone. I never played through 1-3 or 1-4 though, but 1-1, 1-2, and 2-1 were pretty easy.

No bumping month-old threads, plz.

I have deleted the previous post I made (it said I would make a demo when 1-4 is completed, I had to remake the post to attach the IPS, and I didn't want to double-post).
Here's the IPS file:
Patch it to a clean SMB ROM with Title Screen. I may later also take a look at the Vertical Hack and maybe add a few vertical levels to my hack
Levels 1-1 to 2-1 are completed, anyone relatively good at playing SMB should get through the 5 levels quickly. Watch out for hidden blocks and secrets, though! Throughout the hack, just in levels 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, there are 5 1-ups to be found. Some are tricky to get.

Though light, these graphical tweaks make the game look better overall. Not bad, and keep up the good work.

Oh alright, do you know when a demo will be out to download?

I didn't put it in myself, it's from an IPS patch I found. Same with Mario/Luigi selection.

It looks pretty good. Your custom text is great too, it's look sorta like the text from Bonk's Adventure. The floor design for the underground world is ok. Overall, keep up the good work.

Looks good to me so far.

Thanks.

What exactly are you going to do with your hack? And, just to make sure, you're hacking the NES SMB1?

I'm not looking to make a SMB1 version of Mario Adventure, I just want this to be a SMB1 hack with a little more changes than your average hack. I've changed various graphics, some palettes and 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 and 2-1. And yes, I'm doing the NES version.

The mushroom with the black outline looks great against the light blue background, in the fifth screen, but it looks sort of... pale... with blue outline, in the second screen. Also, that the new GFX for the floor tiles would probably get on my nerves after awhile.

That's just me, though.

Yes, unfortunately, the palettes mess up in underground levels. The second screenshot is a 1Up Mushroom though, the third has a normal mushroom. I want to do something with the floor tiles similar to the tileset in SMW Yoshi's Island levels, with the green grass on the top and dirt below, but due to the way this ground tiles down you'd have two layers of grass.

The Buzzy Beetle in shot 2 blends in perfectly with the background; how about making him black?

I hadn't noticed that, thanks for telling me. I'll probably remove it from there.

Lol, that's a bb? I thought it was random out-of-place bubbles or something.

I've restarted progress on my SMB1 hack, kept the same levels, but working on other edits: mainly graphics and palette changes.
I need an opinion on this: the SMAS mushroom I added to it. (Well, some shades are missing...)
I'll show some screenshots:
Demo coming soon.
