I FINALLY did it. What I was doing wrong was opening the backup of my rom!!! Stupid or what. Say the rom I want to edit is in C:/New, I was opening the backup that was placed in c:/BNew, standing for Backup New. Dumb or what. I finally adjusted the ExGFX, and so now I have Shyguys, the doomship GFX and SMAS goombas filling up some of my levels!

YEY!!!!!!

Thanks for your time!

Make sure the Exgraphics folder is in the same location as your ROM. I.E, if you put your rom in:

C:/program files/zsnes/roms

you'd put the graphics in

C:/program files/zsnes/roms/exgraphics

Oh, and make sure that "don't view known filetypes" is off.

Tools>Folder Options
Go to the view tab
Look for "Hide extensions for known filetypes"
If checked, uncheck it.

You may have forgotten to turn that off, so you ended up renaming your files to ExGFX(number).bin.(extension)

I would post an image, but I have no idea where I can upload.

Errr....

1. First of all, you should have created a folder by right-clicking an going "New -> Folder" and named it "ExGraphics" before doing anything in LM.

2. Then extract/cut/whatever to get your downloaded ExGFX files into the ExGraphics folder.

3. Now, open LM, and insert the graphics by clicking the mushrooms.

4. Go to "Level -> Super GFX Bypass" and then enable bypass at the top by checking the box. Change FG3 to "ExGFX80" or whatever number your file is.

5. Finally, click ok and go to the "Add Objects" window. Go to a blank Map16 page and hit F3 to load the GFX, then F9 to save the GFX. (F9 is important - if you don't do this, the GFX will be glitched in the game.

That is how I've always done it, and it's always worked for me. By the looks of it, you simply forgot to put files in the ExGraphics folder.

Good luck

Right, I know ex-gfx is an over posted topic, but this is screwing my head in circles:

1) I download a zip file with ex-gfx files from SMW Central - Such as the doomship.
2) I open lunar magic and then my rom.
3) I extract the Graphics, and then click extract ex-gfx so that it creates a folder in the same directory as my rom that is named ExGraphics.
4)I rename the files to ExGFX80.bin, ExGFX81.bin and ExGFX82.bin, like it says to in the Help file.
5) Now when I click insert Ex-GFX it says that there are no EX-GFX files in the ExGraphics directory.

So what do I do? Is i my copy of LM that is faulty, is it the files or am I just naming them wrong?

I've looked over this board and I looked at SMW central and nothing is giving me a real help with ExGFX. Loads of help on GFX files but not of EX-GFX.

So please spend some time telling me how to get this damned thing to work!!
Thanks
