Now you can check out the finished product at SMW Central. I've test-played it all the way through.

I really good with overworld maps even though it's my first time editing SMW. But anyway I've finally played your hack and I like your custom backgrounds. Not to mention that your hack don't even have ExGFX. The difficulty is pretty alright and not aggressive. Anyway you keep your efforts up.

I'd edit the overworld if doing so was as easy as editing levels and graphics.
Overworld editing is easy. You just have to be willing to put some time and effort into learning how it works.

I agree. If you need any help with the OV, PM me and I'll share as much as I know with you.

Regardless of what others on this board may think, I think that this hack has some good in-depth gameplay. And the color scheme is aweome!! Custom backgrounds with new tiles on each board? Hell yea!!

Or just make a Title Screen like Peter_ac's SMB3 and Golden Yoshi's SMW5+

The intro's lacking a "..." (Which would probably be the best thing to put there) at the end of the text.

Nice little Yoshi's House edit and nice Mario edits, I think it looks pretty good, graphics-wise.

Altogether, it could use some work and a revamped overworld, but it's too easy, in my opinion. Try adding a few extra challenges here and there.

It'll get harder. Garden City levels are supposed to be easy. There will be some future levels that'll be hard without the Switch blocks.

I'd edit the overworld if doing so was as easy as editing levels and graphics.

I hope it's better this time. I've never picked one and play the first version since I heard everyone how bad the hack is.

OW editing is far too technical for me. The hack is unlocked, and you can use it as a base.

I must say V....

...that you are getting a heck of a lot better!...............BUT................

... I think the Garden city palettes should be a little less boring looking... but on the levels where you went in the pipes, and you had that checkerboard BG and stuff... that looked kind of appealing .... but like outside on like the first Garden City level look.... I would make the walls or whatever they are in the back a more stone color as opposed to that light-bluish look....ewww... make it more dark-gray, and make the BG bushes a faded look to give it a background look... But you are definently getting better!!!

But I did notice that some things looked too much like some of the original levels, and I would totally fix that..

And a new OW...

A wise hacker always said "Glitched tiles/sprites are a no-no"

Other than that though, looks pretty good

That's supposed to be there. You're inside of a building in that shot. It's not a glitch.

A demo of Super Mario Starlight Remix is now available at SMW Central. This time, there ARE screenies. I don't know if my hack's the only one where the Yoshies' arms aren't orange. I've test-played the game and there aren't nearly as many glitches in as there were in Starlight DX.
