Thanks.
Any specific problems? How's the transparency (for those of you can see it)? Is it readable, or should I go more opaque? Would it be better with a border? I chose watermelon, because besides being my favorite food, pictures of them always remind me of Summer. As for the spots, its a variety called Moon and Stars. I've got a few seedlings I grew that I'll be planting in a few days. The original image didn't tile, so it took a little editing, but since I know where they're at, the fake parts kind of stand out. I think I work on it a little more.

Nothin' like sinking your teeth into a slice of watermelon on a hot summer day. The watermelons do look rather strange though, I've never seen yellow specks on them before. As for the layout, it beats mine. Simple enough to function without failure and legible. Good work!

Ok, I seem to have located part of the problem. I used min-width, and min-height, something IE doesn't support. Appartently though, IE won't apply a filter unless atleast one dimensional property is set. Simply adding _height:80% solves the problem on the version on my computer. However, setting any dimensional property, no matter how small, in my actual layout, causes IE to once again freak out and expand the thing by like 20 times. I hate IE.
So it still needs work. But besides the technical side, any critiques on the visual aspect?

Thanks Chev. Anyway, emcee, did you try and use it for your td tag? For example, <
Code: < emcee |
Posts: 418/867 That didn't work either. I'm pretty sure I've got it right, I copied it directly from a working example. Something about it being on this page. Maybe if I put the style seperately instead of as an attribute. I hate IE. Originally I had a div in a div in a div. IE was so confused it just expanded the whole thing to about 20 times the proper height and width. | Thexare |
Posts: 566/1104 actually, Chris got it slightly wrong.
| Taken from my layout at EDS... style="filter:alpha(opacity: 75)" That should work for IE, but it won't work in Firefox. Likewise, what I'm using now works in Firefox, but not in IE. =/ emcee |
Posts: 416/867 Originally posted by Chris That's exactly what I used, but it doesn't seem to want to work. Without the transparency, it could use a border, but I like it without the border, with the transparency. Chris |
Posts: 518/577 style="filter:alpha(opacity=75)" should do... if that's what you are talking about. Other than that, it doesn't look bad. Just for a white plain table, I think there's a need of a border or something... Unless you are adding the filter. | emcee |
Posts: 415/867 It's not quite summer yet, but I wish it was, so I've made a summer layout. It has watermelon, and, well, that's it, just watermelon.
| Can't seem to get the transparency to work on IE though. I'll add a little more later. |
