I ment a falling spike that looks like a lava riding skull. |

As for the screenshots, while you've certainly improved a lot since the first time you started, it could still be better. Hyperhacker pretty much summed up all my comments, but here are some points I have that he did not state. 08: You really need to stop tampering with your images. I mean, come on. The fact that the black still shows through the text makes it obvious. 18: An odd location for a waterfall. Which would work better blue, don't you agree? "Wooden blocks not going there": There should be some corner tiles for those walls included in that tileset which you can use in their place. |

I think he meant the skulls that are supposed to be in lava, but instead are just falling from the sky. |

The skulls on lava feature in the cave worlds of the normal game. Unless your talking about something else... |

Chucks kicking reads head looks terrible as the rex heads have no bottom border and to make it look good you need ExGFX and then it would be different anyway... Five stacked goombas isn't a glitch, as they don't occupy the same area; it's merely stupid as it indicates you won't take damage from jumping on them (when you obviously will). And skulls on lava? I was under the impression that was the norm. |

Impressive design Legoman! You've come a long way from your first hacks. Now all that remains is to post a demo so we can see how it plays |

OK you know the drill, left to right, top to bottom.
1) Yay! You spelled Mission right! 2) Water... doesn't look like water, and it could really use a background. 3) No real difference from #2. 4) In an area too dark to see on all but the highest brightness settings, you've replaced a goal post with Munchers. Evil, in a bad way. 5) Boring screenshot. 6) WHY is Mario walking through solid blocks? 7) Again, I have to strain my eyes to see, and there are Munchers. Someone with a lower brightness setting or bad eyes wouldn't be able to see anything at all. 8) W. T. F. 9) This actually looks pretty good. 10) So does this, but it's a boring shot. 11) Nice detail, but using Boo Blocks as the only means of crossing a room AND entering a door? I'd simply quit and delete the file at this point. Super hard hacks suck. 12) Good, but why is there a solid block in the lava? 13) Taken right from SMW, but with ExGFX. 14) A wooden tile does NOT go there. 15) This is just plain stupid. 16) Those hills look like big green things stretched to infinity. 17) ...Wha? Nice graphics, anyway. 18) The cloud is missing its right edge. By the looks of it it got eaten by that large glitch covering the right half of the screen, that looks as if the graphics processor just gave up. Why the backward question block? 19) Again, big hills like that look really ugly. 20) A wooden tile does NOT go there either, and fake Mario? WTF? 21) A wooden tile still does NOT go there. 22) Grabbing a Mushroom to cross spikes? No. 23) Tiles from the foreground stretch up and hold in lava that looks like it's in the background. LOGIC NOT FOUND 24) Same as #5. |

...Why is it that any "glitched" sprite is automatically bad? I think having Big Boo's eyes for the spotlight could be mildly interesting. Of course, garbled tiles aren't good by any stretch of the imagination...
Yes, the edge tiles are bad, as well as a few other things. But there are at least a few inventive things here. |

Yes! I would never ever make such horrible choices in a hack... I just wanted to pat Legoman on the back for not being worse than ususal... you've got to admit.... it's better than his usual hacks... I kind of look at him as a "Special child" that rides the "Short" bus, and when you know that it may suck......................................... still........... you've got to clap and go: "yaaaaayyyyyyyyy... Good Job big guy!" and then put a gold star sticker on his star-chart..... |

Originally posted by Disruptive Idiot No, no, the Arrogant Jerk class is far better than the Legoman class. The learning bonus is more than negated by the fact that the Arrogant Jerk class learns the ability Common Sense early in the game. Alastor doesn't have mad skillz of any sort I know, he merely keeps abusing that technique until he gets a decent hack or post out of it. On a more relevent note, those screenshots are so horrible it's utter blasphemy to call them godlike in relation to anything. This hack is a disaster and just because it's not wirtual man doesn't mean it shouldn't be labeled as such. There's a reason why there was a thread titled "SMAS rips do not make your hack look pretty" stickied earlier! Does it occur to anyone else that forcing you to grab a mushroom so you can walk across spikes invulnerable is a terrible idea? Did I miss the memo where substituting a wooden block for an edge tile is okay? Do I alone notice that where the spotlight tiles should be lie garbled tiles or Big Boo's Eyes? Am I the only one who has a problem with misaligned and stretched checkerboard tiles, paths that stop short before ponds, and backwards question mark blocks? If you answer all these questions with an affirmative, you are a monster who seeks to stamp out all that is just. Or you are suffering from some sort of brain disease. I don't know. |
