I use my keyboard as a mouse often but not for everything. Just for moving around the pages and going back and forth through them. It's pretty convienent once you get used to it.

I've been using my keyboard more since I'm in college learning Adobe programs and QuarkXpress. Those hotkeys are quite the ride.

Sometimes!
When the mouse is not working, I have to use mouse key.
To rapidly click, I also made a program that will rapidly click when pressing some key.
I even made a program that will use joystick/gamepad as a mouse, it also supports joystick/gamepad pressure.

Back in the summer, my mouse was a glitched, cursed piece of crap and I used the keyboard for nearly everything. Thankfully I have a new one now, so I only use the keyboard occasionally to scroll down pages.

Nope, never used my keyboard as a mouse. Anyone willing to explain how to do this?

I had to use it on my old Commodore 64 plenty of times!

I have used my keyboard to get around on a few occasions, just because I'm bored. But on this board, where there are tons of links and different pages... it gets pretty tedious.
I definitely prefer the mouse.

I always use my mouse for things like scrolling. The only reason I use MK is when it's broken, not working, or I need to click a lot in the same spot

I use keyboard to scroll, sometimes, but usually I use my super-cool scrollwheel.

I do use PageUp/PageDown when I'm scrolling a long distance, though.

I use the mouse but I do use a lot of keyboard shortcuts. Though sometimes I use the keyboard for really fine mouse movements, like during graphic editing when I need something to be pixel-perfect. I found a nice feature where any time you turn Num Lock off, the numpad acts as a mouse, since having it emulate the arrow keys is useless.

I also once tried using one of those really old joysticks as a mouse, which was neat but too hard to use. You don't get much precision that way. Plus only one button worked.

On my Mac, I use the mouse, but I make heavy use of keyboard shortcuts. There is a wide variety of OS X applications with highly featured keyboard shortcut sets that comply with standards set by Apple. Thus, the same shortcut tends to do the same thing in multiple apps, which makes shortcuts much easier to learn and remember. I look for this sort of standards adherence when picking out applications. (GIMP, which runs under X11, is the only exception, as there's no better free OS X image editor that I've seen yet, and I don't feel like buying Photoshop just to screw around with an icon every now and then ) I never replaced my standard soap bar Mac mouse with a multibutton, and honestly, it works. I don't mind holding a modifier to "right-click" every now and then.

On the Windows XP laptop, I try to avoid using the mouse as much as possible because it's a trackpad and though it works, it can be annoying to use precisely. Of course, plugging in a USB mouse solves that problem. All I'm really doing with the laptop right now is typing, though, so I never bother locating the mouse just for that.

I use the mouse all the time on my XP box at work because the keyboard shortcut set in EditPlus (our standard editor) is teh sux.

About half the time. I have to press the TAB button to go where ever it goes.

Sometimes I'll use the keyboard to scroll, but I usually use my good ol' mouse for that job.

When reading something where I need to scroll to get the entire thing (like a thread), I use the up and down arrows to scroll, but that's about it.

Eh... sometimes I tap the down arrow key to scroll down the page, but other than that, its all mouse for me...

The only reason I wouldnt use my mouse is to highlight something I cant click on *Coughinvisiblethreadscough*

Isn't using the numpad to move your mouse an accessibility feature on Windows? Because I think it would be harder to use the numpad then a mouse.

My mouse broke in the middle of WoE, so I had to tape my mouse to attack the Emperium. Then, when I had almost broke the Emperium, Acmlm killed me.
This is a long thread. Click here to view it.
