You guys really have to stop taking me seriously. This IS the craziness domain after all.

I'd blame hormones. Seems like a good reason to me.

Of course, realizing "Hey, I'm probably acting depressed for attention" is one of those things that'll REALLY mess with your mood. Makes you feel rather... bad about yourself.

The Grunge scene had a lot of depression themes too, when I was in High School. And then there was the Goth scene when I left school... I don't know what it was before I started high school...

Can't speak for everyone, but I'd say a lot of kids would feel drawn to depressing, emotional material at a certain age. And then other kids join in cause it's a "scene" or whatever.

If I knew someone who was cutting himself, but had a bit of humour I probably would send that Maddox page. Other than that, it's a serious matter and the person need help. :/

Course, I'm probably pissy about it cause I'm tired

But yeah "I'm so emo cause I'm emo" is possibly one of the dumbest things I think I've heard anybody say.... outside of high school.

I'M EMO!!!". That! That is what depresses crazy emo kids. That is what makes people listen to Thursday, Death Cab For Cutie, The Postal Service, and Linkin Park. It's not the problems. It's just the realization that you're emo that makes you emo.

There is nothing wrong with Thursday or Death Cab For Cutie. Don't care about the other two

There is nothing wrong with liking a particular style of music either. There IS something wrong if you think that you have to behave, act or dress a certain way because of it.

And I completely disagree with this constant relation between a music style and a depressive state. Emo is 'emotional music" but that doesn't mean it's okay to say that all emo fans are overly "emotional".

And getting upset over being "emo" is stupid too. Just be your fucking selves and stop putting immature labels on people, particularly based off a music style.

The word "emo" seems to have replaced what the word "angst" meant when I was in school

Uh... yay?

Meh, I don't know what it is with hating/putting down people with serious problems lately. Oh well. *shrugs*

It'll be okay, Danielle. We're all here for you... You're not there any more. Someday, it'll all be nothing in your mind. Until then, be strong. We believe in you. You have enough strength to get over this.

...Err... Look! A distraction! *scurries off*

You are right.

That is funny.

Not, gut busting funny. But still, worth a laugh or two.

Nonsense. It's cool to hate, right? I mean, you could spend time getting to know someone and understand their problems, but... isn't it so much easier to just go "OMG EMO LOLZ"? I mean, heaven forbid there should actually be a HUMAN BEING there, right?

...I've never really been one to laugh at things like that, sorry. The suicide like a man thing was amusing, but that's mainly because it was satirized to the point where it doesn't even resemble reality any more. Just going up to someone who seems sad or depressed and yelling at them doesn't appeal to me, especially since I tend to expect to be the one being laughed at.

(Oh, and that thing about "get laid or shut up", I don't see how sex would help in that situation. I think it would probably wind up making someone feel even more empty inside, and only worsen things in general. But... that's only if they're how they are for similar reasons to how I was. Which was something ridiculously stupid, but... yeah.)

Tried to stop a friend of mine from cutting his wrists... Was damn hard to do. Called his sister, and she took care of him. There was also an "emo" at school. The thing is, when he had enough of bitching, he told us that he was abused as a child. It's sorta why he became "emo". Just want to say that instead of laughing, think about what could have happened to make the person act like that.

But my friend used to cut two years ago.. because her brother had just gotten arrested (he's now in prison serving a 4 year sentance).. and her mother was addicted to drugs... her older sister was an alcoholic.. so if you can't understand why some people think their lives suck... STFU. Cutting is a serious problem, and it's an addiction.. you can get an adrenaline rush from it. My sister used to cut because we have some family problems that I don't need to get into right now. And I'm telling you.. if you know someone who cuts it's VERY HARD to stop them. It's not funny and it's not just "emo crap" you're dealing with. And most of the time emo kids don't even cut themselves. My friend listens to rap and techno and shit. So stop stereotyping and stop making a joke at someone's serious pain.

It's not funny at all. Self-cutting is a rather serious problem. Quoting Maddox doesn't make you cool. It just makes you look stupid. Instead of laughing at stupid sites, go, you know, help your friend in the need. Grow a brain kids. You rock Valcion.

The other problem with Maddox recently is that he hasn't really been updating all that much since he started on his book...and I guess now he's busy on the book tour and all. Speaking of which, anyone buy that yet, and know if it's any good?

It's true, though

Maddox lost his edge.

No. Maddox used to be funny. Now it's just boring and stupid. I just don't feel like reading his shit anymore. It stopped being funny after the Star Wars one. That was the last good one. But who am I to say what you should think is funny.
