Sabata cursed loudly, sprinting away. There probably be no way he would be able to stop Jack from completeing the spell in tim, but he wasn't giving up. There has to be a way to destroy the demon beast he's summoned. If darkness hurts it, but not enough... He reached into his pocket, and noticed the Rising Sun grenade, he was given by his brother.

"... damn it. This is gonan hurt me, but I have no other choice..." Jumping high into the air, he equipped the single grenade, then fired it into the air, shouting out the name, "Rising Sun!"

Reaching a fair enough height, the bomb exploded, bathing the entire church and the hillside in a bright sun partical, which also disapated the severe storm. All with darkness elements, undead, or monsters (like the Sandworm Samus) will be severaly harmed by this.... which also included Sabata, who was already sprinting away back towards the church to hide inside, to protect himself in the shadows.

Samus quickly swallowed, contented to have caught something in its mouth. Thinking its work done, it looked expectantly up at Jack for praise, but soon found its bubble burst when the Nightmare Grenade it had eaten exploded in its gut. Shrieking and hissing, the head pulled itself back into the rooftop, followed by its long tail.

Jack was only vaguely aware of what was happening below, as the spell casting took most of his attention. The turquoise wall of runes behind him on the top of the bell tower was nearly a solid circle, with only a few broken marks scattered about its surface. The storm around the church raged on, and lighting was almost constantly striking the ethereal wall, spreading blue and green flames along the tower. Jack felt the flames licking at his feet, and hurried to finish the spell. He had about one final line to go, but it was a tongue twister.

Samus was not ready to quit either. It burst out of the roof with shocking suddenness, and made an ear-splitting roar at Sabata. Once more, it dived at him with both mouths wide open, angled to face the base of the bell tower should Sabata successfully dodge...

"Nightmare Grenade!" He fired off a dark grenade into Samus' mouth, and tried ot dodge, but was smashed down by the tail. This is a kick in the ass... Damn it, I should of said no to Hel when she asked fo rme to get that Jack character...

The Dark boy quickly recovered and ate a Speed Nut which increased his speed, which he used ot sprint away from the giant-ass sandworm. Now the Nightmare Grenade would epxlode....... now (unless it coughed it back up).

"You persistance bitch! I don't care what Hel does ot me, right now I'm just gonna destroy that book one way or another, then send your scwany ass back into the damn dirt!" The Dark boy cursed at Jack.

As soon as Sabata was shifting over the rooftop, Samus dived down into the roof and disappeared. Some magic allowed it to travel into surfaces as if it were tunneling through sand. A moment later, its head appeared directly beneath the Dark Boy, bursting from the wet tiles below and attempting to swallow him whole! It would make no difference that Sabata was immaterial, because spirits are exactly what sandworms eat. They normally consume wandering souls of the dead, but Samus didn't care at all that Sabata appeared quite alive. Predicting that he might try to escape, Samus shot its tail from the opposite side of Sabata and swung it down - it'd try to crush him against the roof if he tried to dodge that way.

Things were about to get worse, above. On top of the bell tower, Jack was just finishing the last lines of the page! As he chanted the final word, he expectantly looked down to see the spell's effects... but nothing happened.

Jack: "...Oh, of course. Tuh."

Jack flipped the page, on which were many more lines of the spell. Without delay, he continued speaking in the dead language, while a turquoise rune appeared floating behind him every few seconds. They were beginning to mesh together into a sort of eerie, glowing wall...

That tactic worked, but his original purpose failed to destroy the book. He sensed Jack fall away from him afte rbein drawn into the Blackhole, so he slid his headband over his eyes, and the white eye-like parts on his headband started to glow.

He looked into it and located Jack as where he was, then also spotted the sandworm. "Holy shit, what the fuck is that thing!?" Deciding to fight now and ask questions later, he decided to equip more Nightmare Grenades to his gun before he Zero-Shifted towards Jack's position, keeping a close eye on the sandworm creature.

I wonder if that thing will suffer damage from darkness or not... I'll be in deep shit if that giant worm is invunerable to darkness. But to insure my safety, I'll have to destroy that book, seeing as he relies on it to even battle with me.

Jack: "N'au d't'notaa, atonroc - ... what the Hell?"

The book he held in his hands shook rapidly, and before he could react it was flying through the air and toward Sabata's gun! The runes around him faded, losing their power with the spell, and Jack was livid with their failure.

"Again with the gravity?!"

He didn't have a choice. If he wanted to save the book, he'd have to dive in after it. Telekinesis would not have a strong enough effect against the black hole. His mind set on protecting the fragile thing, Jack sprung from his place on the thin ledge, clearing the distance to Sabata's tree, and grabbed the book out of the air just before it was pulled into the sphere. He was just able to turn his back to the orb himself when he was sucked into its chaotic field.

A strange, sickening feeling like being on one of those orbiters at the fair, and then Jack was falling out of the sky a distance away. It was all happening so fast, by the time he hit a surface he could only make out that he had just missed being impaled on a tall, metal rod in the shape of a cross. He had his tome safely in hand, and for that he was relieved. Jack looked to see where he was, and found that he had landed on the steep top of a bell tower, right next to the treacherous steeple. He used the pole to steady himself as he climbed to a standing position - not an easy task on such a wet and angled platform.

The sky was now a dark indigo-gray, fading quickly with the dim sun. The rain was pelting the two harder than ever, creating a tapping roar that was almost impossible to hear over. Lighting seemed to spend more time crackling than not. If Jack hated the weather before, he loathed it now.

He'd be contented if he could just try out the book's power on the dark boy, who was still situated on the tree, just a leap away from the church's wall. From there it'd be a quick climb or jump to the steep roof, and he'd be directly below the bell tower, on which Jack stood elevated another fifteen feet. Jack held the book open, spitting the rain out of his face, and squinted at the pages. They seemed to curiously repel water.

"One way or another, we're going to be an audience to the demon of this book. You won't be stopping me. Mind that the angrier I get with you, the harsher your death shall be!" Jack cackled atop the tower as lighting flashed across his shadow. 'I might need some relief with this...' He thought. "Oh, Samus!!!"

The tiling of the rooftop splintered away, and an eerie green glow drifted from its cracks. There was a repeated pounding noise, and at each thump the crack grew larger and larger... and then, an entire hole was burst away, as an enormous snake-like head shot out of the opening! It may have at first appeared to be a serpent, but one learned of the dead would recognize it as a sandworm; a two-headed, yellow-eyed, black and white striped beast from the dead Saturn Desert. Samus reared its head and roared, revealing its second head tucked away inside its mouth.

The sandworm waited for Sabata to make an approach to Jack, who was trying to finish the spell. Judging from its enormous size, it wouldn't be letting him pass by, so long as it was alive.

"Persistant bastard..." He growled, noticing the ivy walls starting to corode and burn away. At the last second, he kicked away from the wall to a neabry tree. Still not near to Jack, but close enough, he held donw the trigger and creates the Blackhole at teh barrel fo his gun again to try and draw the undead human in.

Jack's glowing eyes peered over the edge of the book momentarily. Just as he had expected, Sabata had thrown some dark shots his way. Jack spun out of the way of these, shielding the book in his arms, and was only brushed a couple of times on the shoulder and the leg. As he came around, he nearly lost his balance on the narrow, slippery ridge, but he was able to correct his posture and fall back against the wall. Breathing, he smiled sardonically for a moment, cocked his head and continued reading.

Jack: "T'ciiaana unii ana, innacaicn c'cnvaai nor iuc raicn..."

The rain was getting notably harder, the clouds darker and thicker. As Jack chanted in Netherspeak, turquoise runes appeared in the air and on the surface of the church behind him, spewing noxious liquids to the ground below. Some of the poison dripped down the ivy that Sabata climbed, and could burn him up if he didn't plan his route carefully.

The dark treen cursed to himself. Even with Zero Shift, dashing up to where Jack is still won't help so he fired several Dark shots to hopefully connect and burn that damn book once and for all, while dashing towards the ivy-covered wall and begins climbing.

If I know what he's trying to unleash, I better not let that happen!

Jack: "Where are you going? If you're looking for me, you're going the wrong way."

Jack's eerie voice sounded from the cathedral above. The battlements near the steep rooftop were bathed in shadows, but as the lightning flashed again, Jack's figure was lit up for a split second. He was hanging from the edge of the covering, upside down like a bat - he had been able to catch himself before falling out of the window. Jack let go of his grip and fell to the narrow platform directly below, finding a place still stories above Sabata. Peering down at Sabata like a vulture, he produced a book from his coat, one with a brown and turquoise cover - the same book that he had been reading when they met. He only had to flip two pages in before he was contented with what he found.

"You may have blown the library to Hades, but I've still got the prize of all the books right here." He waved the book around. Lightning flashed, illuminating the illustrious pages of ghost-like demons. "Oh, you've done it now. Just try and stop this! Ciiaana iuc Cnovaai nr iuc Aartocai..."

Jack was reading a powerful spell out of this tome, and would be finished in less than a minute! If Sabata hoped to avoid its terrible effects, he'd have to scale the building and stop him. Going in through the church would most likely take too long, but ivy lined the stone walls, which could help Sabata if he had no other method of making the distance.

"Shit!" is all Sabata said before he too was flown to the wall. The sound of shattered glass reached his ears as he Zero-Shifted to the window, and looks out, as the rain continues to pour, lightning flashing. He had reclaimed hsi shadow when he created that Blackhole with his GDH.

Sabata shattered the rest of the stained glass before leaping out. He puts his gun away, and grabs a branch from the closest and spins like acrobat before jumping down and landing gracefully.

The rain pelted him and the muddy hilly ground, loud claps of thunder echoing out followed by flashes of lightning. He yanks out his GDH and grips tightly.

OOC: Sorry, had internet problems.

As the Foul Crevice spell continued on its path, missing Sabata, it reduced the book to confetti before it could travel an inch through the air. A green plume of smoke was all that was left among shreds of paper that drifted slowly to the ground. There was finally a loud crash against the empty stone wall where the spell landed, nearly caving it in entirely.

Jack turned in the air and ceased his floating, to land gently on top of the table once more. He leered spitefully at Sabata at the mention of Hel.

Jack: "Well, Hel's going to have to settle with a little disappointment. She could handle some of that for once, I think."

A strange wind seemed to pick up in the room, pulling everything toward a sphere that Sabata's gun had created. It was obvious that getting sucked in would not bring good results. Jack dug his heels against the table as he felt himself drawn inward, and made to dash in the opposite direction when he had an idea. As all of the contents of the room - books, chairs, papers, and bits of glass - chaotically flew toward the core, Jack snatched one hardback out of the air and made a swift cut down the center with his dagger. A brilliant light flashed from the tear Jack created, and he automatically recoiled from it. The book then zoomed toward Sabata's gravity gun, a blinding specter of light in the dark room.

Jack knew what was coming, and only wished that what was soon to follow could have been anything but
light charged. He jumped off the table and hurried away from Sabata, struggling through the storm of flying books and junk, but then an entire bookshelf was uprooted and rolled toward him. Jack only uttered a curse as the huge object knocked him toward the Gun del Hel, just as the light book collided with the gravity orb.

The room lit up with a terrible and powerful explosion of light that would blast both fighters to opposite ends of the room; Jack soared backward through the air with the various damaged furnishings, and crashed right through the stained glass window and out of the church. It was about a five story fall from the great window, down to the jagged hill below a certainly fatal fall. Yet if Sabata were to take a look outside after recovering, he'd find that Jack was nowhere in sight

Something called him toward the window... hard to resist... where had Jack gone?

Unfortunately for Jack, the spell finished, and the Dark boy will soon reclaim his shadow as soon as he fires a Dark Spread at his own shadow. For now, the aura dimmed, and he threw the book at Jack before he Zero-Shifted out of the path.

He could still feel how strong this type of spell was... how strong the energy felt, not to mention that the stone floor had large gashes left in the path of the attack.

"I'd be glad to end your life right now undead freak, but then Hel would be pissed off. I'll take you to see her even if I have to kick your ass in order to do so." He whipped out the GDH, and held down the trigger, creatign a ball of energy at the barrel that was starting to suck in everything towards the gravity.

Jack if he's smart enough should leave right away to escape the pull of this gravity the gun has created...

... but then again, maybe a helpful dish of moderate pain won't hurt old Jack then...

OOC: If Jack does indeed get caught in the gravity's pull and sucked in... he'll he dealt moderate damage, then shot back out from falling from the sky from an invisible warp.

Jack seemed to snap out of his mad delirium when he felt his weapon recoil from Sabata, making less of an effect than he intended. He looked quickly from his knife and to his enemy, hearing the chant for the first time.

Jack: "Hmph, like that'll help."

Jack back flipped high into the air from his position and landed gracefully on another table, his coat falling behind him like his own two shadows. But just after that, he was in the air again - hovering, with a magenta aura radiating from him. Lightning flashed, and Jack twirled in the air, making a violent thrust with his arm in Sabata's direction. In response to the motion, an invisible force then tore through the air, rocketing straight to the Dark boy! The spell ripped apart everything in its path, shredding the fine rug it followed and leaving a deep, burning crevice on the stone floor beneath. It'd grind Sabata like meat in a blender if he didn't move, and fast.

This.... strange ominious aura that flared around the teen's body seemed to suppress damage, but still some blood was shed after Jack's blade ran through him. He still held his concentration and continued the spell, his voice getting louder.

Jack continued tirelessly. He followed the spell on its path to Sabata, and maintained the assault moments after it struck. The final distance was closed as he dove forward and made a strong horizontal slash aimed at the midsection, spraying phantom blood across the chamber from his crooked blade whether he hit or not. The vampiric slash would sap some of Sabata's blood and deal medium-high damage if it landed.

Jack was too focused on making Sabata suffer to notice the shadow flicker beneath him...

"What the fuck!?" The teen braced impact, as the energy spell struck him.

"Screw you Jack!" He opened the book, and found the spell he needed. Closing his eyes, an ominious aura started to flare up around him as he began to speak in an unknown language.

If this spell is completed, Sabata will have fully retrived his shadow, plus increase his attack strength.

Jack: "What are you doing?!"

Jack's arms automatically snapped forward, and aiming them at the grenades, he used telekinesis to pull a couple from their deadly path and launch them out of the broken window. He could still do nothing about the others that exploded around the room, incinerating so many of the invaluable books. As the smoke subsided, small flames on broken bits of wood were all that remained on one wall of the library.

Jack's dark silhouette stood in front of the fires behind him, staring at Sabata with his head tilted down and look of indubitable menace on his ghastly green eyes.

Jack: "You - ! You should have known better than to do that! Who knows what kinds of power, knowledge, and history you just destroyed right there?! Fuck, if I didn't have this book with me right now - "

He cocked his head to the side, and stiffly drew his dagger. The threatening stare was quickly replaced with a crazed one.

Jack: "Okay. Pain time. Starting now!"

Jack dashed forward with unprecedented speed! As he cleared half the distance to Sabata, he slashed wildly at the air as time seemed to slow to a crawl. Brilliant flames were drawn in a line from the diagonal slash he made, and then more as he slashed again, making a flaming X that floated in the air. Jack completed the design by spinning in the air and forcefully drawing a horizontal line near the top of the X as he came back around. With the design completed, Jack landed crouching on the floor as time returned to its normal flow and the fiery pattern rushed at Sabata!

"Dark Tornado!" He began spinning around while unleashing another Dark Spread. He managed to disolve a few of the negative energy shots, but a few managed to strike him. He only winched, before gulping down what looked like a green liquid from a crystal potion bottle, before dropping it to the ground. The healign effects immediatly rid the harmful effects he suffered, but did not recover any HP.

"I think I'll get rid of this library right away..." Switching sub-weapons, he took aim and fired several normal-colored grenades, which will explode and could burn this library room, "Since it seems your gonna be using the spells from the books, get rid of the source, Jack." As he finished that sentence, he plucked a book off from the nearby shelf next to him. It was a black book which held the image of the Messenger of the Moon on the front cover.

This book contains the spell that I require to nab back my shadow from that undead freak, but first... I'll have ot get it back after finding that specific spell...

OOC: Not sure what you have going on with The Letter H, but is this really Sabata that Jack's fighting? 'Cuz they've already met before, and they ought to act like it if that's the case.
---

Jack cackled when he saw Sabata try and reclaim his precious shadow, and sent it whizzing in a circle around him to avoid the attack. However, the dark spread only ended up hitting him instead. Jack gasped from the impact and leaned backward against the table - there was nothing like the sleepy, yet painful feeling of a dark attack. But he was up again, and he returned to toying with Sabata's shadow, grinning menacingly while he imagined what would happen if he could keep hold of it.

Jack: "You better try a little harder. If you don't get it back in a few minutes, you're going to be in your own little hellish realm of pain and torture. But hey, you asked to see some dark powers, so maybe you shouldn't... heh heh hehhh."

Jack tossed his current book on top of the pile on the table, and whisked another from the shelf. He flicked quickly through the pages, and then stopped suddenly on a promising page.

Jack: "Oh, you'll lament this. Aci nr Nocrau!"

The room rushed with a grim wind as black splotches of negative energy starting popping into being right around Sabata! These clouds of decay slowly moved toward him, picking up speed over a few seconds until they were whooshing at him like bullets! They stopped appearing once they numbered seven, and each attack that hit Sabata would stick to him, corporeal or not, and quickly drain his hp until they shrunk out of existence. It was just that they picked up speed so quickly that made their movements hard to predict.

Jack: "I should keep some of these books. I'm just loving the spells in this one here."
