Might have been me. I have a memory of that too.

Maybe the thread is in the archives.

Didn't Ziff actually do something like that a while ago? Or maybe it was someone else. I don't know, but I'm fairly certain someone did post something about doing that once.. yeah.

...

Yeah...

I'm guessing that the reason for that is that it's a good idea?

Heh, de'ja vu... that's what Kristi told me two hours ago. To use scissors instead of pulling and yanking it out.

Try scissors. With scissors, you get the stuff off without ripping it and causing further damage.

Wanna know pain? Stub one of your smaller toes, and the toenail appears half-ripped, and bleeding hard.

That happened ot me just yesterday, and I'm still trying to take off that torn toenail off... hurts like friggin' hell!

I hate it when I stub my toe. Especially when I'm not wearing socks. How come the smallest injuries hurt the most?

Oh yeah. I get hurt wuite a bit.

Just last weekend, I ran through a few braches of torns that I couldn't see since it was dark.

I basically get bumped, bruised, cut from everyday things. But it has been awhile since I have fallen down.

When I played softball, I'd constantly get scratched up because my coach always had me stealing bases. Which means... lots of pick off attempts, dive backs, and sliding. And I was a catcher, so...

I get papercuts every once in a while at school, but not too often.

At work, I don't bleed as much as I bruise. Lots of hard pointy objects to run into and give me a nice shiner.

I cut up my thumb and forefinger a little bit at work yesterday taking apart this shelving unit thing. Stupid stripped screws.

Hey, it was painful enough in fiction in There's Something About Mary...I don't think we need to hear about a real life account

Papercuts are awful too.

I have this horrible tendency to step on broken glass every few months. My flat feet in tandom with the rather odd way I step always jams it deep into my flesh, and it is the worst pain ever.

Last weekend I was about to cut an orange into little boat like things, and somehow managed to get my finger under the knife. Didn't make that big of a dent though, as it stopped at the nail.

Though, it is not a common thing for me to injure myself in any way. I'm usually quite careful.

I somehow managed to bruise my rippling six-pack abs playing baseball, and it's hurt for the last week.

Meh. I get lots of small cuts from things like paper, other people's pets (damn kittens) etc.

Worst injury was a deep, long cut through my thumb, that would've required stitches only the doctor thought that would do further nerve and tendon damage.

Still scarred, some five years later; that injury meant I couldn't type or draw or use a dinner knife or such for a couple of weeks.

Repeately cutting my fingers with staples while trying to sort through Door-to-Door reciepts at Heart and Stroke is one that comes to mind. See, the receipt books were stapled together in such a way that they stayed intact, and yet the ends of the staples were never completely flat against the card. The main thing that needs to be done with them is to sort all the books by number, and I'm sure each and every volunteer there has cut their fingers doing so before. The problem with it is that by the time you realize the staple pierced your finger, you've usually pulled hard enough to tug it out, which can lead to some relatively small, but quite painful cuts

Other than that, trying to fry pizza shells at work (ie, Mexican Pizza shells), getting plenty of small burns all over my hands, and having to wash the dishes in hot water afterwards. Not a good mix, even when the dishwater is about the same temperature that you're used to having it at. The main problem is the burns though, and the cause of those is the rack that's used to fry the shells.

Picture pages of a book, except that they're made of metal, and quite a bit thicker, then imagine putting a tostada shell (if you don't know what that is, just think of it as a round and flat piece of bread) between each page, then dunking the whole thing in grease for about 30 seconds. Once they're done frying, they have to be taken out of the rack, but by some miracle, there's only ever one pair of tongs to be found around the buidling, which leaves you to improvise as to how to lift each little shelf up. No matter what you choose, you'll end up walking away with a couple burns

Around the house though papercuts (although I haven't gotten one in some time now), trying to play with the cats when they don't want to be touched, especially seeing as their claws haven't been trimmed in a while, and having to worry about picking up slivers from the wall beside the computer are the only things that come to mind.

How about you, Shyguy? How did you hurt your thumb? You made the thread, so you must have had your own experiences like this

Edit: Also, after finishing supper one night, I got up and started walking out of the kitchen, and stubbed my toe on a chair. It didn't start hurting until I actually looked at it, and that surprises me. Somehow, I'd managed to bend the middle toe of my right foot into an inverted "v" Pulling on it solved that problem, but it still hurt quite a bit after I noticed it.

Well my friend and I were playing soccer earlier tonight(won with a hat trick in 5 minutes! ) and of course we just play in whatever we're wearing. No shin-guards, cleats, etc. We bash each others legs up like crazy. But I've got that one sharp consistent pain that hurts when I move my leg a certain way.
