I can't really say I'm a fan of the whole sidebar idea, but other than that, you've got some decent looking screenshots there

I don't know about you, but I'm a bit reluctant to have to download and this package when I've got a decent way of having a Vista-like look on this computer already. Here's what I mean. Vista32px for WindowBlinds is the visual style (if you can really call it that) in use, as well as the Minium icon pack for IconPackager. Other than that, it's just standard stuff (such as the wallpaper and the like). Nothing terribly special, but I like it

The lock and shutdown buttons in the Start Menu don't work (the actual buttons are hidden in the white area to the left), but that's about the only complaint that comes to mind. Well, that and how the status area in an open explorer window won't show the currently selected file's size, or other attributes when you click it I don't get a whole lot of use out of that, but it still feels strange when it's not there

I'm going to download that pack right now, as there may be some usable stuff (wallpapers and such) in amongst everything else. Thanks for the link, Uncle Elmo.

I just wonder how much Vista's system requirements would drop if you removed all the fancy graphics.

Well why not try This Pack

I just have, it's pretty impressive

(Yes I know it's messy, oh and the winamp file is a Gwen Stefani Mashup.. in case you think it's something else!)

and after installing (and some messing about with it) here's the
After pic

You also get some customisable transparency effects which are pretty nifty.

Anyone else tried this?

EDIT : After some more tweaking (i.e upping the resolution a bit, and changing things round) You end up with This

What can I say, I like Black

lol... "eerily Mac-like" Nah, it's still definitely Windows.

Personally, I'm not hugely fond of the look of Vista (or the look of XP Luna for that matter), as the UI still seems incredibly inconsistent.
