Er.. shouldn't the board just be let alone? We don't need the break an online-count record to make it seem active... hell the board is already plenty active as it is.
It doesn't matter how many people are on at the same time. Take a good look around, there's plenty of people and plenty of posts to go around. If the Most Users Online record is broken, it should be done purely on the nature of how much people view this board, planning to break it doesn't make it seem that special. |

I'm not bolding any of them because I'm not sure what my plans are this week. I'm usually on and off the times listed above. |

I generally have the capability to be on at most hours of the day that this could possibly be on on days which aren't tuesdays and thursdays. On those, though, I'm unavailable from 12:30 PM to 7:00 PM, sometimes 8:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time. |

Okay guys, the board's activity is going nowhere. We need to get back into this. For ease purposes, we need to organize our information and make it consistant so it is easier to plan. Fill this out.
Username: - STATUS OF DAYS - Sunday: Monday: Tuesday: Wednesday: Thursday: Friday: Saturday: Under status of days, put down the hours when you'll be available in the format (??:??:?? ?? -??:??:?? ??). Make sure it is sorted by time. If you're SURE you'll be available at a certain time (say you're 85% sure), bold them. Also, include times where you might be available during a day, but don't bold those. BE SURE IT IS IN BOARD TIME FORMAT. For example, here's my highly consistant schedule. Username: asdf - STATUS OF DAYS - Sunday: 12:00AM-3:00AM, 5:01AM - 3:59PM, 4:00PM-11:59AM Monday: 12:00AM-2:00AM, 6:45PM-11:59AM Tuesday: 12:00AM-2:00AM, 6:45PM-11:59AM Wednesday: 12:00AM-2:00AM, 6:45PM-11:59AM Thursday: 12:00AM-5:00AM, 6:45PM-11:59AM Saturday: 12:00AM-5:00AM, 5:01AM - 3:59PM, 4:00PM-11:59AM |

Well, if it is going to be during the weekend and at that time, I'll just leave my computer on with the index page of the board in the browser window.
I have to download some things while I'm away so it shouldn't be a big deal for me to leave one window open. |

And to all the doubters, I'm positive this will work if we put a lot of planning into it. Although difficult, keep in mind that we can take as long as we'd like in planning this (to a reasonable extent, of course). In addition, as someone mentioned, we'll need to get the word out to more people, most notably those who don't look at any other forums, ideally by using the board banner. The ROM Hacking users seem to be the ones who do this the most. We need to make it sound appealing to them, perhaps something along the lines of my custom title (except with a link to the topic, of course). Anyone who has spent any time there KNOWS how big some of the..."less intelligent" users' egos are. Would that be considered exploiting them? Perhaps, but there is no harm done to them or us. It's basically a win-win situation. In other news, the general time seems to be around 8PM Board Time. The majority of the dates specified seem to be Friday and Saturday, or Sunday. Remember, even if you can just pop onto the boards for a second, it'll count. Keep in mind that for this to be effective in achieving our primary goal (increasing board activity), there needs to be a lot of us available and ready to party after we do so. |
