My friend Leerie just saw it, and apparently she was overwhelmed at the part where crying is expected, tears streaming down her face and everything. |

Or maybe she was all OHNOES ZOMG GHEYS AIDS ZOMG OHNOES MEN HAVE BUTT SEX THE HORRORS ZOMG MY PEABRAIN ASPLODE NOW. Seriously. I wish I were kidding.
drjayphd - Word to your mother. I got annoyed with "Seasons of Love" back when I lived in the dorms. My building, Atherton Hall, is a unique dorm with an interesting history, and a group of students put on a play about it every year. When I participated, whoever worked on the script was like YAY RENT OMG and so we used that song with changed lyrics. The melody bored me. I mean, I thought it was an okay song (not terrible by any means, just mediocre). I honestly did not understand why they liked the song so much. And of course we had to sing it over and over and over again. But I do plan to see the Rent movie. I don't know any of the other music, so I don't have any expectations along those lines. I do know that I like good musicals and this one has won awards, and board friends who are fans of the play like the movie, and as a result, I think it will be a well-done representation of the play and I'll enjoy it. Weeee rambly sentences. |

Maybe the seat was sticky or something. XD
I was flipping channels this morning and the cast was on The View. As I don't watch The View, I didn't stick around but they were singing and everything. Anya, you'd be in heaven. |

I've seen the play twice already, Colin, and I wanted to see the movie again, as soon as it was over, but it was already later.
Back when we got the tickets around 2pm, there was a lady in front of us in line saying that she wanted her money back and that the movie that she saw was Rent. I was shocked. Screw her, I loved it!! Colin, you really should go see this movie. |

Can I slaughter the kids who, in high school, would be singing "Seasons of Love" non-stop after school? (Well, my homeroom was the chorus room for three years running and THEY WOULDN'T STOP.)
Because of that, I can't say I'm looking forward to the movie. Even if "Everyone Has AIDS" just DESTROYS. |

I'm placing the over/under on how many times Anya goes to see this at... 4. XD
All I know is that I overheard a LOT of people this week talking about wanting to go see Rent, but I wouldn't be one of them. It just... doesn't look like my cup of tea. *shrugs* |

OMG. OMG. So f'ing sweet!! I didn't mind that they changed a few things around and placed some lines in other areas of the movie, but it all worked out great! I'm so going to see it again. I loved how...okay, I could go on and on here, but I have to go. I will say this: go see this movie. And if you can, the play/musical as well. |

So, yeah, this movie rocks.
The casting was spot on, the modifications to the script worked out well, and the camera work superb. Moved my friend to tears at point when it was expected too. |
