Hmm... Mikeyk discovered the cage control sprite (link), but it's number 88, not 15.

Well, You all know about this Layer 3 "Cage" which is there for absolutely no reason.
So I decided to take some notes and gather information of it. After no success, I gave up and started fooling around with some HEX stuff. I made Princess throw Mechakoopas in the Bowser battle and stuff, but when I gave the "Sprite Princess throws" offset value 15, which would normally blast Mario to the Right at an amazing speed, but instead, it trapped Mario inside an invisible "Cage". I could move around and stuff, but when I walked left enough, Mario stopped like to a wall. When I tried to jump, Mario just hit his head into an invisible ceiling. I'd take a screenshot, but isn't necessary because the walls were invisible, and As far as I know it only works on Bowser battle.
Any thoughts on this?
