I figure I might as well ask here.

I was playing pitmk 1 and I noticed that if I hit start and select, my game freezes. I don't know if that was intended or not, especially since the 2nd one apparently works with it.

Is it possible my patch or rom is bugged?

That'd help fix a few errors, but not all of them... Like the "dessert" would pass through that.

Pros:
- The tilesets are good in general, I liked especially the cave graphics and the Dry Bones
- Those enemy generating pipes were used, and invinsible enemies with "auto-bouncing" when jumped normally on them, are a good idea as well
- The difficulty level was right

Cons:
- The already mentioned glitches, like the growing Mario which seems to buried in the ground some pixels, when he is standing and taking the mushroom
- The POW switch scenarios were a bit boring. Usually you took them close to the used-blocks barrier, activated it, then had to wait for a new established wall which were coins before
- Some more secrets might have been nice. It doesn't need to be secret exits (since this hack is SMB3-based it anyway might not fit - you cannot see if there is a secret exit or not, aside from an alternative branch). I think something like passages which grant you some extra coins - simlar to the coin heavens in the hack.
- The ghost house in the Zeldaish overworld: If you take two Eeries to the right side where the block with the vine waits, it may happen that the vine doesn't come out. I don't know if it's too many sprites at once in the screen or another error.
Well, "proceeding" is possible anyway - but I don't want to tell more since this would spoil the fun in finding the exit there

Although there are more cons than pros, the hack had some nice elements but lacks some other things. An example is the passage with the puzzle with these arrow tiles in the last castle, similar to some of SMB1's castles, it just needed some more of these (different) puzzles, maybe not going only from left to right but also maybe a level which goes Sonic-like from the top to the bottom, from right to left, changes within level its way and so on.

Hands up, BUT these spelling mistakes really must be removed, and this should be done before releasing the hack (the best way still are beta-testers, selected by the thread crerator himself).

Anyway... As for the map path bug after you destroy a castle, once the map gets refreshed (like if you leave it and come back), it gets fixed...

Nice, icegoom.

Continuing on...

Desert, not Destert.

There is so much wrong with the grammar and spelling here, that I'm not even going to say anything.

Activated, not activeated. I assume Wowser is intentional.

The dry bones looks like it is floating.

I had to disable Layer 1 when taking this screenshot, but it's a lot more obvious in-game (even with Layer 1 on).

Now I'm afraid to use a sledgehammer.

Fun hack. I'm only to the beginning of the river world, but it's been great so far. A few too many differing styles of Goombas for my liking, though.

Very good hack. Of course those spelling mistakes are horrible. FIX em'. Also, it might be a good idea to change the bosses for the Mid-Castles. Use ASM or whatever, since it's exactly like the original and that's something that should be avoided at all costs on a hack.

Bug finding fun.

This waterfall is doing a pretty crappy job of affecting my movement.

The first unspoken rule of graphics is not to mix different styles of graphics. Simply put, the gray blocks don't fit with the cave tiles.

The paths get screwy after destroying the castle.

You really should make the poison mushroom vanish after Mario touches it.

It's only the hundredth hole in the scenery bug I've seen in my SMW hack playing experiences.

Give those porcupos a ledge turning tile!

More blatant holes in the scenery.

I could've sworn this was in the first demo too.

Messed up SMB3 Mario tiles? I love it! (the first one is when he is in mid-animation, and there is no tile for that frame)

Beautiful. Not beautyful.

Flame jets of...uhh...how did you even allow this to happen?

Just because it's present in the original game, doesn't mean it shouldn't be avoided.

Is your connection maybe messed up? You also couldn't get the SMB3 pipes to work; I wonder if the files aren't getting corrupted.

fun demo. Only complaint I have that wasnt already brought up is spelling and grammar errors throughout. One that imediately came to my attention is the "dessert" level in the third world.
