That's because kids nowadays are wusses. We had rocks. I split my teeth open on a playground when I was in 1st grade and had a gap until braces fixed it years later. |

They now have bumpy cut up tire peices covering playgrounds so it's safer. |

Jumping off of swings once they get up high is the most fun you can have on them.
It's also one of the more dangerous things you can do with them. It could be that you were scared because of that, which I think would be a potentially valid reason...so even if that's not the actual reason, you should say it is. I was lucky in that the playground where I normally played had a BIG open area in front of the swings, with rather fine gravel, making for safe jumping. |

Man. Swings ARE fun for some reason.
That's how I remember it, anyway. I used to have a swing on a tree limb, but that limb broke several years ago. |

Had a plastic tire swing years ago. After that broke, had a real tire instead.
Had fun just swinging in a full circle and twisting the rope to spin at the same time. Fun times. Good times then. Now, the rope broke due to my uncle or dad swinging on it or something a long time ago and... well, I don't swing at all anymore... Oh well... |

swings...
I mean, LOVE swings so much... The other day, I made a beeline towards swings after jumping on rocks... (Over moving water... ) ... Yeah |

I've actually found that playgrounds are nice for dates. Obviously, you don't go to a playground for a date with a girl, that's just stupid. But I mean if you go out to dinner or something and then are walking around talking, then it can be fun to head to a nearby park with a swingset and the like. It helps have a nice, comfortable, fun atmosphere that's pretty much just the right kind of...air...for a casual date with someone you're trying to get to know better. |

We've had all of two swingset sort of things in our backyard in the past. The first one was red and white, and had a whopping three swings on it Unfortunately, two were simply attached with chains, so they were tangled up quite a few times, and eventually just broke off. Not to mention the part you sat on was made of plastic We got rid of it not only because it didn't get used enough, and it was breaking, but also because just swinging back and forth on the remaining one was enough to cause the posts holding the thing into the ground to actually rise up above the grass
The other was a decently sized wood structure, with a sandbox on the bottom, and a snug room on the top. There was a wood swing hanging from it, but it hardly ever got used, as the part you were supposed to sit on was way too small. I never did find out what happened to it, but it's no longer in our backyard. I'm assuming it was taken down because we didn't really use it alot. As of right now though, the closest park to our house is about a 5 minute walk away. There used to be another one at a school about the same distance from our house, that had more playground equipment than you could ever ask for, but it was all taken down. I really don't know why, but all the parks here are slowly being taken town, and having the exact same equipment put in each one. Rather boring if you ask me. I realize that may have been due to safety reasons (rusty equipment, etc.), but I figure the parks would get alot more use if they varied the equipment for each one. The only other memory I have of using any type of playground equipment was at a park near my Uncle's old house in Wingham. It had a larger than normal slide that I desperately wanted to ride on (I wasn't very old at the time, so chances are it may have been smaller than it actually looked), but I couldn't bring myself to climb the ladder up to the top. Thus, I made numerous attempts to climb up the slide from the bottom, but only got about a quarter of the way each time due to other people going down it as well That's about all I can remember for now though |

We had one at the old place we used to live at, but not here. It was kind of small, and I didn't swing very far on it, because it didn't look particularly solid.
I swung much farther on the tire ones we had at school. A trampoline would've been awesome to have. |

I used to have a swingset in my backyard that I used somewhat. But the thing I got that I used fairly often was a trampoline. That was pretty sweet. |

My dad built me and my bro a swing set years ago. Had a very nifty tower walkway type area but he tore it down just for the slide as we used it for the pool one year. I miss that little area. The swings are still up though and the rope and rings are down though but can be put back up. Just haven't felt like it though. |

They are big and the one I was on never went as high as I wanted it to. I remember fracturing my collar and neck bones from falling off a jungle gym. Felt like forever I was falling down 5 or 6 feet onto a bunch of rocks. Still, I loved those things when I was little. Used to play Ninja turtles! |

ehn, have one, played on it to death when I was young, now my sister seems to be the one to play on it when its warm enough. The thing has seen a good many years and held up alright, though it almost came out of the ground the last few times I swung on it |

I used to be scared of swings.
Anyway, we don't have any, and I don't think I'm missing much. =/ |

Not yet, I may buy one for my daughter in a few years. We'll see. |

I don't have one, but there's a park at the end of my street with a playground. If I wanted to swing, it's just a few minutes away. |

I had one until I got too big to use it. Swings are fun, and good excersize too. |

Don't have a swing set or play set.
If I did have one, I would probably chill there sometimes. Relax and look at the stars and whatnot. |
