Not really. Have you tried changing your port forwarding options on it? Its likely that's the problem.

One of these links will probably take you to your router's config page:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
Link 4

If none of those work you'll have check your router's manual for the right address.

Once you get into the config there should be an option under "access" or "firewall" called DMZ (you may need to check your manual for this, too). Double click your network status icon in you icon tray and go to the support tab. Then copy the number listed as your IP address into the DMZ setting on your router config. Hit save or submit, and restart you Bittorrent program, and see if it works right now. If it does it means the problem was port forwarding, and you'll need to set up port forwarding for the specific ports that program uses (DMZ forwards all incoming connectings).

I can download all I want, and it SAYS I'm seeding, but... if it's being uploaded, then it's like I'm invisible.
I wouldn't really care about this, but one site I go to gives you a ratio, and if none of my stuff ever gets uploaded by others, obviously my ratio sucks.

It's not the firewall, and I've already allowed utorrent for other protection programs.

Hm, I was having the same problem a few days ago, with settings that worked before. Could just be the torrent/tracker.

I don't think that windows firewall is the problem at all or any other firewall she may have.
Either she has her bittorent client set up a little bit wrong or she is having problems seeding mp3's, files, movies or whatever. I think it would be best if she went to this site http://isohunt.com/ and post her problem on their forums because they could help her alot better since they have more experience in that area or go to azureus source forge website and forum for help, but thats just my opinion.

Try turning off Windows Firewall, or adding uTorrent as an exception for it. I know Bittornado wouldn't download beans with it on, even added to the exception list, so if you have XP that might be the problem.

Just click Start -> Control Panel -> Security Center, then click on the security settings link for Windows Firewall. Then select it to be Off, or click the Exceptions tab. Then click "Add Program", and find the uTorrent .exe file (By default, I would guess it's in the C:/Program Files/uTorrent folder).

If that doesn't work...Well, I'm out of options, perhaps try switching to Shareaza or Bittornado?

Well, I use Azureus, but one of the things that seems to mess up a whole lot of stuff is NAT problems.

In Azureus, you can tell you have one of those cause the little NAT "LED" at the bottom of the app is either yellow or red all the time. Green is good.

I'd assume there's something similar in uTorrent too....

Yes, ports are important too. I use 49500.

It's also important to set up some good connection settings. These will vary depending on your speed. ie, say your upload is 512... you might want a global max upload speed of around 50, maybe 5 upload slots per torrent, max. number of connections around 120 per torrent, and about 200 globally...

Important to remember to set up any port forwarding on your router!

Are you using a router? You probably need to set-up port forwarding. Or you can move your computer your router's DMZ. It should say how in your routers manual.

Or, maybe your ISP is blocking incoming connections on the ports your trying use. Or, it could be like the ISP I used to have that blocked all incoming connections.

Well I don't know if this might help but try this, change your icoming port to 7932 or 7936. after that change your transfer settings to this: download --> 135 upload---> to 35 after you did this try to update your java software to Java beta 6.0 . do a search in google and you'll find it. finally if you use a cable modem or high speed DSL than those upload and download settings should work out.

I use Azureus and have a similar thing. After an hour or so I get a decent seed thing.

First off, I'm not very technology savvy, and I know very little about torrents or torrent programs.

Bear with me, I need some help.

I used to use bittorrent, but after having too many problems with it, I switched over to utorrent. It works much better, but I'm still having issues. Anything I download, I have it seeding forever. But when others download the file, it never actually seeds anything. Am I doing something wrong? Is something blocking me? Is it just another bad client?
