It all looks pretty damn nice. If I may make a suggestion, though, make the 'star fence' have layer priority (so Mario and enemies walk behind it). Also, putting some right where Mario enters the level would help show that you can walk through it. |

Here's the fence post now. Tell me what you think guys... It's not Mario Gay Land, but you've got to understand that in Mario Land there are these kind of things. This level was supposed to look kind of girly. |

I think your star fence could use some posts, or some other way of making it obvious that it's a fence/gate. Otherwise, it just looks like a bunch of stars in a line.
Everything else is really nice, though! |

I created the cute flowery plants, and hearts for the first picture.
Then simply I created a luminous star gate so Mario won't fall off! Expect tons more GFX; I'll be creating a bunch of neat palettes for the SMAS BG, and my own custom GFM for the FG. I've updated and added the fence post. Do these look okay guys?  
 
Hmmm... maybe I'll make a FG graphic that Mario can go behind.... hmmm... so many ideas.... |
