On the first forum I was on, I was considered a spammer because I tend to check updated threads in forums of my interest VERY quickly. If there's a new post, I usually catch in within 3 minutes if I'm online on the board, unless I'm busy. I usually reply as well.

Give us the name of the forum and we´ll have a serious discussion with them.

No, you don´t have you worry about that here as long as your posts contributes to the thread.

You're a spammer if you post spam, not if you post often.

There's a list of how many posts you need in a 24 hour period in the FAQ. Anya Syndrome is on top at 600.

Though, I would think that Anya Syndrome is 'banned' syndrome anymore with the amount of spamming you'd have to do just to keep things in order. I was lucky to -legitly- pull off a Wooster's 301 posts in a day run. I non-legitly got WS++ on New Year's '04.

That's the strangest definition for spamming that I've ever heard.

Now, replying within 3 minutes with "yeah" all the time... you'll get roasted for it.

And I thought the FAQ answered quite a few of these questions myself.

Oh, that helped me understand syndromes.

Colors represent user status... IE Normal, Mod, FMod, or Admin

Colors also represent Gender...

With syndromes, you get a nifty little title right below your name and rank.

The thing about syndromes is, you always wind up giving them to more than one person at a time

But they are useless. There is no such thing as too much if you always provide what you need.

But if you have 4/5 out of your posts spam.... You've did something wrong....

Are those the colors of people's usernames or something? I've always wondered what those colors were and how you'd change them.

You shouldn't be worried being called a spammer like KATW said. Just don't post to get a syndrome like a few people have done before in the past.

I don't even understand that syndrome stuff.

They get mad at you just for that?

If your posts contain content, and contribute to the discussion in a good way, then there is no reason to fear being called a spammer.

Now... you may be called a SPREER, but thats a different story

I want to ask a question because I've been on a huge amount of forums within the past few years and most of them are really big ones that get over 3000 posts a day.

Is there a thing on this forum like "posting too much"?

I try hard to keep my posts very informative and constructive (most of the time), but I do not wish to be called a spammer again.

Should there be a limit to how much I reply?
