I particularly like "Fire Of Unknown Origin" from an album standpoint. But truth be told, I'm so burned out on Track 2, "Burning for You" from radio airplay that I'm dead to it anymore. I tend to go for the deep cuts, stuff that doesn't get played on the radio a lot. My favorites on this album are Track 1, the title track, and Track 4, "Sole Survivor". "Sole Survivor" is on a homemade complilation of music I brewed together that I occasionally take on my spur-of-the-moment midnight drives through the middle of nowhere with. Together with David Bowie's "Fame", "Sole Survivor" does something "emotionally strange" to me that makes me feel like I "belong" out in the middle of those woods cruising back roads at 2:30am.

Or maybe it's just the alien implants flaring up...

Years back I heard the songs but never payed attention to who did them. My friend mentioned their name to me then I just got into them. I knew who they are and listened to them a lot more.

Oh yeah, the first album is great too. It has Cities On Flame With Rock and Roll on it. That's the song that really made me want to know more about the band.

Those are my favorite songs from Blue Oyster Cult but I also like Godzilla. I love their music but never followed them, so I know a few names of their songs but they are an awesome band. Around their time was when I think all rock was the greatest.

I noticed there are some BOC fans here and I was wondering what your favorite albums are. They went through a few phases throughout their career (of evil, hehe) and I like the early stuff the most.

Anyway my top 4:

1) Secret Treaties- It's perfect, IMO. Not a bad apple on the CD.
2) Tyranny and Mutation- Actually this would be tied for first with ST. Perfect.
3) Fire of Unknown Origin- I was taken by surprise when I heard it. I wasn't expecting to like it so much, but it's almost as perfect as the other two.
4) Spectres- Very underrated album that shows a softer side to the band, but still has great lyrics.
