Ooh, let's not forget Link's Awakening. Lot of fun bugs there. You could pick up part of the forest, leaving glitched tiles under it (at least in the DX version).

Wario Land has another glitch room which is accessible without any kind of code or trick.

One of the two train levels (forgot which) has a midpoint goal very close to the roof. Simply stand in front of it, duck, and jump onto it. You'll be stuck between the midway point and the roof, and can't get down. But if you jump when the train shakes (which it does rather often. Just hammer the A button to pull this off), you jump through the roof, and end up in a glitchy room you can't get out of. Yay. You can have a lot of fun with the camera there, though. Try walking offscreen, and then turning around, and you'll appear on the other side of the room, with the camera scrolling over to catch up with you.

Zelda: Minish Cap - If I remember, saving when minished near a beanstalk causes the beanstalk to by low chance, be total garbage tiles. This is playing the actual game on my DS. Not a dump or anything, I brought it. >>

Wow! Hey, that's a neat find, thank you! Goes to show that a veteran of this game like me can still learn something

No! That's not what I'm talking about! For example, there was one on Rice Beach 1. If you do the hat trick with the proper specifics and enter the door leading to the exit area...I believe it gave the level the winter tileset (it was all screwed up, though) and did something to the camera.

EDIT: Found what I was looking for.

You're supposed to be able to get to those worlds, though..you can just do it out of sequence with the debug menu hat trick. But it only works on some of them. You'll never get Rice Beach 3's alternate (or, was it 4?) without first causing the flood after you beat the submap boss, even with the jet hat. That's just a example, though!

Donkey Kong 64 is also one of those very glitchy games. Many of which involve being able to go through walls. There's little that can hinder normal gameplay, though. Wario Land is another one of those games with good glitches that can be triggered at will. Tons of secret worlds can be accessed through an exploit with the hat code and doors, but the specifics escape be at the moment.

Oh yeah. That was one fucked up game.

Your Rig can literally by-pass all laws of physics and simply drive in a bridge. Not on it.

Big Rigs. I don't even need to explain this one.

Impossible Mision for the 7800 wins this category without contest. The american version of the game, due to a bug, has a lot of keycards placed where you can't get them, making the mission... well, impossible.

Reminds me of an old SMB3 cart I had (which I've pretty much destroyed ), the game ran fine but the graphics were garbage. A lot of NES games put the graphics on a separate chip, so this is fairly common.

I had an interesting experience with SMB2 too. As soon as I selected a character it warped me to world 4. On the character select after the warp it sounded like two copies of the song were playing. It crashed when I selected a character there, though.

And games that are just plain buggy:
-Pokémon Red and Blue. Just plain crappy programming.
-Space Station Silicon Valley. I don't think they tested it at all. Interestingly enough the company that made it - DMA - is now known as Rock Star. Coincidence? I think not.

I don't think games that are viewed as "one of the worst ever games" qualify as being seriously glitched. That's too easy.

Yeah, but a lot of glitches in Rygar aren't things you just stumble across - heck, look at the speedruns. You need to slow the game down bigtime to take advantage of most of them since they require perfect precision.

As for graphic popup and that... yeah, it's apparent.

Rygar on NES is one of the glitchier games in my memory. See my speed run commentary for it.

I managed to get flashing screens (as in, garbage would appear and the screen would just flash on and off) in SMB on the NES, but that was more a case of the cart not being cleaned.

As for SMB3... well, flying/jumping high enough (usually with GG codes) has unwelcome consequences.
