Now all we need is a source of 1.21 "jigga"watts of electricity.

(throws his diamonds in the sky, as he feels the vibe)

...wait, not THAT Jigga? Aww. Maybe when computers can run on garbage. Just don't put one in your car, especially if you like speeding during a thunderstorm.

Oh and appearantly, according to digg users, 20 mbps is a typo and it's actually supposed to be 20MB/s, which means, this could replace RAM as well as hard drives. And quite possibly change how computers are completely delt with and operate.
Then maybe we also go with optical computers fully in the future, which would be much more faster than the transistor computers of today.

Though that's somewhat far in the future heh.

I like though that they're actually looking to get it out later this year, normally when you read one of these articles about some new breakthrough technology, they make it sound like it's pretty much ready through the whole article, then at the end they say something like 5 years away. Then you normally never hear of it again.

I also like the little inside the prototype video they had on their site, it reminded me of one of those ads you see in movies for some futuristic evil corporation.

They also seemed to be hinting at DRM in that video too, but I guess at this point that's to be expected.

damn I hope this isn't too expensive. Hell, I also hope it isn't so cheap I'll regret $100 for a 250GB hard disk.
