You are my inspiration for Super Metroid hacking.

God DAMN, I need to learn how to do that...your Norfair looks amazing. I too have planned to use all available map space in my hack.

I'd Love to release a patch with the new Physics, but they are just so many small changes and addition to code here and there, I just don't know how to pinpoint them all without hours of searching, so, unfortunatley, no =(

Drewseph, would you considering releasing a separate patch with just the changed physics for those of us you want to play through the original like that? After playing Zero Mission for a while I can't stand Super Metroid's bomb jumping anymore.

I remember this one. I liked how its designed to go beyond the limits of the original game. I can't wait when it is finally finished.

As for the new map of Norfair, it's really neat.

Yeah, or even just really stupid bomb jumps up a really high area or insane walljumping. I mean, with just the basics the game gives you (Manual Stuff), plus anything the game teaches you (Shinespark, Walljump) should be basically all you should need.

*thwaps Jiggly* Drew's hck isn't nearly as extensive as I wanted SMA to be. Regardless, te fact that he's finishing it makes it worlds better than mine. Kudos Drew to everythng you've done thus far.

Alex, Sorry about jumping the gun, I was not angry, but after reaqding i did sound it, sorry for the confusion. My hack is being made because there had been so many "shitty" hacks out there for SM already, I wanted to mak this to push the game to its limits.

On a note to floaty jump, I mean in SM samus was much too light and I hated having to wait for her to fall, pluss it was difficult to bomb jump.... so I have made the speed of jumping and falling to be mroe like Metroid Prime

I never said your hack was "shitty". I was just pointing out an interesting fact and asking a couple questions. You complained in your first post that no one ever gives feedback. I was doing just that, giving feedback. I see the great potential in your hack and I am only making sure it comes out as best it can. I see you've worked very hard on this so I guess that's why you don't want to answer my questions.

Well, yes it's a remake but it's far more than a remake. Think Super Mario Oddysey. That different. Yes I've been getting answers before I talk unlike you people. Gyah.

I don't know why the idea of remakes intrigue me when there are already remakes available. Its kinda like liking that supe mario bros game made from mario world when there was already a smb remake in mario all stars.

A metroid 2 remake coulda been nice tho.

If the level of design from this room shows how the rest of his hack will be, i won't have any worries at all about the quality of the finished product.

It's impressive in scale, I'll give it that.

It's certainly something I want to give a look to. And from what I can tell from the screenies at your page, it still has a 'Metroid' design to it, which is promising. Just don't make it fiendishly hard or abuse Sequence breaking tricks, please?

0_0 that map is almost 4 times larger than the original! NOW looks like Samus goes through all Zebes!

I supose you should change in what time you have to complete the game to see the different endings since this is not anymore the 1-4 hours game...

and the items will be much harder to find... good thing you don't put any spoilers ^^
