Well, I got to 1000 lines in endless standard today... and then stopped.

I got bored because it was getting very... repetitive

max: So I'm guessing you have a flash cart.

3D Tetris has been done before. It was called Welltris.

Well then, how DO you improve upon Tetris ;[

Actually, a true 3-D mode should have been done. Something like Catch Mode, where you rotate the main tetri in all deminsions, giving more depth to it. Or something.

Well, it's hard to back up that statement if you haven't even played the game yet.

Basically from the reaction I've read, everyone will probably find one or two modes that they like along with regular. It's hard to put in six modes and have five of them suck.

it feels like just another tetris game, i dont see why everyone is hyped up about it. the modes that aren't normal tetris are pretty boring

Ah, righto.

16,564 TP now; new background too.

I'm going to shoot for a perfect score in Marathon (not endless) sometime. Shouldn't be too hard.

I am going to get this the second I can afford it. I am a Tetris FREAK. It got me through my akward teen years...wait, wait, that's still happening. All the more reason for me to get this Puzzlers are my life.

Why did they have make the line counter only go up to 999?

I mean, when you have over 3000, it gets kind of annoying checking the level (tip: if level > 20, lines = (level - 1) * 10, provided you don't mind if your line count always ends in 0)... at least the levels/music always change, but the fact the points don't increase at all after 20 sucks... you're stuck with the exact same scoring, so if you start at 20 it's basically a patience test to see how long you can play before you get bored and kill yourself to stop it (I finally gave up at level 330, score 10306002)...

Oh well... Marathon isn't as fun as I hoped.

I got this game just today. I'm looking forward to playing everyone. As I did in the Metroid Prime Hunters thread, I'll list everyone's friend code in this post and will update it when a new code appears.

Mine goes first.

I got mine the day it arrived at Wal-Mart, which is March 22. I totally love that game. My WiFi score is low because of connection errors... I hate connection errors. My Friend Code is:

I picked it up, and I like it more than I thought I would: Catch Mode is teh wubbest <3 Now, if I didn't suck at Tetris, I may like it even more, but there's always all the pretty NES stuff <333

EDIT:
thought this was worth a double >.<

So I've been playing. And it's not half bad emo09.gif

I quickly jumped straight into Normal Mode (I love the NES themes wub.gif). Played through Normal Tetris mode, of which I realized why I never liked Tetris too much sad.gif

Then I went to Line Mode. I guess I've been playing a little too much Panel de Pon, cause I was thrown off by the tetri not moving upwards wacko.gif You clear a certain number of lines, which you can set before the match.

Then I went against a computer: I guess for every line you make, one is thrown to the other screen, aka the computer. I guess: I had half a screen of his blocks and still won :X

Then I quit and headed over to Catch Mode. Instant. Wub wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif You have a tetri to begin with. From there, you catch other falling tetri to enlarge yours: when you have a 4x4 square, it detonates. The larger the squares, the more points. Once you get a 4x4 tetri, the classic Metroid music changes to a hard rock version. Falling Metroids hurt your life bar, as do falling tetri if you don't catch them.

No online yet.

And this is prolly my love of the NES talking but, daaaaammmmnnnn I love the NES themes :BIGWUB:

I jumped online, only to get my ass kicked I'm no god at Tetrisssss For online play, you have 1 vs. 1, 4-way play with items (I didn't bother), and Push Mode, where you play another, trying to push their tetri to their side by knocking out rows.

There's a total of six modes: Normal, Catch (wub.gif), Push, Mission, Puzzle, and Touch.

Touch Mode, I just tried, and I guess it's alright: You slide the tetri with your stylus. You can't turn the blocks, only slide them. Sorta like a puzzle mode, but not quite. You win when the Balloon Brother's Cage reaches the ground, which lies atop the pre-set tetris. It includes Tower Mode, as I've described, and Puzzle Mode, which I really don't see much difference from Tower emo13.gif

Push Mode is the same as I described further up: you play against another, trying to push the blocks to their side. The larger the combo, the larger the gap is filled on your side.

Puzzle is alright: you have pre-chosen pieces to work with. You say which one you want, and then choose it's angle. You don't choose where it goes. Just the piece.

Mission is... strange. I've yet to play it, but I watched the tutorial for it. Apparently, you have a limited amount of time to complete a scenerio. Such as, "Complete three lines using piece blah." You may build the thinger however you like, but you're MUST complete it with said piece. If you don't, you're given five or so extra rows and a new scenerio smile.gif

I'll be trying this tomorrow at school.

My interpretation thus far.

A new twist on the classic puzzle game..

So far so good; I'm really enjoying this game and I might end up buying it. Can't wait until I get a wireless network going to challage you guys.

Anyway, love the music from class NES games like Mario, Zelda and D.Kong.
