Armored Trooper Votoms all the way. It's gritty, real, and totally badass. Chirico Cuvie is on my list of "badass anime/manga leads". (Along with Gatts, Kenshiro, Ogami Itto, and Char Aznable-- to name a few) |

I can't remember if it has been mentioned in this thread or not, but Black Lagoon is worth checking out if you like action. It's cool stuff. Also, the second season of it started two weeks ago, so it's fairly fresh. |

Well thpppppt, I went to buy that Galaxy Fraulein Yuna and they said they couldn't sell it because the store they got it from was out of them. I found something with the same name (if you zoom in on the image, it's written there) and characters but a different image here; not the one I was looking for though (and it's expensive ). Anyone know another place to get it?

Just recently I got Ranma 1/2.
This is the first time I've ever watched Anime, and I really like this show! |

woah. I just rented Galaxy Fraulein Yuna at the local video store. There's like 6 episodes on the disc. It starts off silly (I recall seeing some panty shots near the beginning and thinking "aw crap, not another near-porno like last time*"), but by the end it gets quite serious and intense. I'll admit this is the only animé to actually bring a tear to my eye as of yet,
Spoiler: I might just buy the disc if they'll let me. Frickin blew my mind.
when that girl's sister or whoever it was pretends to be realizing the emotional pain this girl is feeling, and bends down to comfort her... only to stab her through the chest and later when Yuna is reluctant to destroy that monster thing because that would destroy any hope of bringing her back... I stayed up waaaaaaaaay too long and nodded off during the second-last episode or so so I'm not enirely sure what happened there, yay week-long rentals. Also, the music is pretty awesome. Anyone seen or even heard of this one before? *Ikki Tousen, the first animé I rented there. Their selection is *shudder* English dubs of Card Captor Sakura, Sailor Moon and Pokémon, plus several very obscure ones I've never heard of, so when I rent one I tend to have no idea what I'm getting. Had I known the title translates to something like "Battle Vixens"... yeah. No plot to it at all, just a LOT of panty shots. |

Ichigo Mashimaro is another funny animes, although serious at the same time--more aimed toward girls since I don't believe I there are any male supporting characters... |

Haunted Junction is another funny one. Like Ranma but only 12 episodes and no actual nudity (not that I've seen yet anyway). |

If you enjoyed Genshiken, go watch NHK ni Youkoso. It's slightly more nerdy and disturbed even, and it has a storyline. If you haven't watched Gunbuster, go watch it. I can guarantee it's worth 3 hours. After that get Diebuster, the sequel. (A note: people seem to think the sequel is called Gunbuster 2, that is not the case. Top wo Nerae - Gunbuster. Top wo Nerae 2 - Diebuster. Not that hard really.) |

Originally posted by Shadic Agreed. I rate it excellent. I enjoy Bleach. I'm curious to see how the dub is vs the sub. Both Mai Hime and Mai Otome were great, but Hime was a touch better. I'm currently watching Tsubasa Chronicle, and I'm enjoying that as well. FLCL was too far out in right field for my tastes. I don't think I could have made it past 6 episodes if more had been made. |

Ayashi no Ceres, it probably one of the best series that I've seen in a very long while. I don't generally watch anime, but I've watched 6 hours of it in a 24 hour stretch... As in, whenever I could.
As for where to find it, a certain YouTube may contain it.. |

Saikano is good if you want to cry. I mean it. I have a friend who has done The Robot to a song called "Sadness", 2/3 of which is crying, and he openly admits to crying while watching this anime.
I've only seen 5 eps, and I'm not watching more until I have someone to cuddle while watching. |
