Not necessarily. You could use mini-Norrises in the place of Buzzy Beetles, so when it spins, it does roundhouse kicks. But the Chuck Norris online fad sucks, anyhow. We all know that he really isn't like that. In fact, in one movie, Chuck Norris's character fell to being smacked by a paddle. But Chuck wouldn't fit in with the game's theme anyhow.

Nah, Chuck Norris can't be the boss... it'd be too hard to make and add in a roundhouse-kick animation.

Just an idea for having your flight...

Change the height you go up in the air after running to match a normal jump. With that, it would also be kinda difficult for the player to go high up in the air and allow the player to skip levels, which I think is a good thing. And it just seems more realistic that you wouldn't go any higher than that, you have to work your way up in the air.

Just a thought .

Well, I am starting on thinking of the graphics in which I will draw. The characters in this hack will have a more serious tone to it and less cartoony unlike most SMW hacks.

I had the idea of when you start the game, you will start out big and when you get hit, the body will take on a damaged look. Anyone know if there is an ASM code for this? Because I like the idea of getting health instead of starting the game hurt.

I like all of the above. Monsters and ninja and all sorts of stuff. Japan has an absurd amount of mythological creatures and related material to draw upon. I see no reason that, as a group, we couldnt come up with a replacement for all the enemies in the game, even within the relative confines of a ninja theme. And of course there has to be at least one level that is entirely ninji XD

I agree with SKN - Ninjis would be an ideal enemy to see often. However, don't overdo it with them. Other enemy ideas could include a ninja hiding in some round object to replace the shell, a Shuriken-throwing enemy to replace the Pitchin' Chuck, and so on. Basically, what I'm saying is make some Ninja enemies.

I think I might know what the player will look like, but there is some other things that I am thinking about. Should I have the enemies be yokai and other mythical demons such as oni and what not? I think I might. I will probably throw in some other ninjas as well.

As for the levels, I will have to think about it. Although I like to draw my own graphics, I will have to look at some other games for help with that.

Dragons and Ninjas may or may not have any relation with eachother, but I think it would be pretty cool if you changed yoshi's sprite into something resembling an asian style dragon that floats along the ground instead fo walking. Maybe breathes fire or something instead of the tongue attack.

Oh. Well, see, what I read your previous posts as was that you'd gotten the fireball edited so that it would fly straight, but that you hadn't changed the graphic for it yet.

Ah, yes. Another legend. Seems theres this ancient japanese animal trifecta thing of Frog, Snake, and Slug. Anybody whos seen even half of Naruto should be at least somewhat familiar with this. Now, I honestly have no clue where this comes from or what may have given rise to it, nor the original legend(s?) and its been a while since Ive done any research on it, so Ive forgotten most of what I did know. I think Snake trumps Slug trumps Frog trumps Snake, but I could have that backwards.

Oddly enough, Ive never heard of this in relation to ninjas outside of the whole naruto thing. I didnt know that ninjas were such a big part of it...interesting.

Worked the opposite that I wanted. The cape stayed on his back, but mario spun. It also crashed after so far in the level.

I'll see if I can find a code and try it out. Sounds interesting.
Or even if it increased the player's speed for a limited time. That would be pretty cool.

Ive got lots of ideas, but I dont know how possible they are. Something that might be easier to do would be to alter the starman. Instead of making you flash colors, have it make you invisible (ninja magic! HA! but leave the sparkles so you can see where you are) and make it so that youre still immune to enemy damage, but so you dont automatically kill them when you touch them.

Or, hell. Leave it so you kill them when you touch them. Thats pretty ninjay too, I guess XD But I still like the invisible idea.
