Turning Zelda greyscale is possible with a ingame glitch also. You just gotta walk out of a basement when a bomb explodes and the screen is grey. I cant remember how long it stays that way. Like only a screen or so.

Well, if I wanted to, I could make a Game Genie code for every NES game, that allows that game to be played in Black and White. The NES has the ability to play games in color, or in monochrome. It's just a matter of setting one of the values in the PPU Control Register #2. 0 is for color. 1 is for monochrome.

As for your request, PM me the details.

You seem to have the skill to take a minor request, toggle all three color emphasis bits, should give you an alternate version of dark overworld.

Also somewhat related, did any game actually use grayscale mode?

I think it would be interesting if they did make a AOL zelda game. I didnt' think their pool was too bad. I prefer yahoo pool tho. I added your code to GSHI KTurbo.

Wow, I'm amazed. Neither one of you can read the posts in the thread before responding with one of your own. Why don't both of you re-read the thread, and maybe the two of you can figure out where you screwed up?

I was suppose to say: Zelda LA, because it's black and white like a gameboy. I can't edit my posts, because I can't login.

This code doesn't change any palettes in the game. It simply changes the value that is loaded into one of the NES' PPU registers. Now you can play Zelda for the first time in Black and White, on the real thing!

Zelda AoL. Is it?

Really love these codes. I, having playing Zelda Classic, was hoping for a quest like that, but I suppose this code is nice as well. Very fitting, even if it doesn't work on the normal Game Genie. The boarder changing colors are nice, too.

I was actually working on something like that at one point... However, like most of my work, I lost interest.

ZELDA 2 CHEATS
Ive kept this cheat in my head for 10 years and I know this is for zelda 1 but I wanted to list a cheat for zelda 2
anyways there is all kinds of fun stuff that can be done with the cheat PASKPLLE
I remember it from when I was little and had just started using a game genie anyways the cheat itself is not that exiteing but when you change a few letters of it i can do some pretty wild things.I cant remember the conversion for game genie cheats if anyone remembers post it im gonna fin these cheats again I havent done game genie cheats since I was 7.two of my favorites were the ones where using sheild would kill the townspeople and give u alot of points and my favorite turned them into blobs and you could kill them.I got this ratty old notbook with a few cheats in it ill figure out what they do then edit this post.

EYKEEVSA-strange doors appear when you use sheild and they take you places when you walk thru them.(very glitchy)
TASKPLLE-gives you D amount of men try it out to see what im talking about.

No problem man. You don't have to let me know anymore. I appreciate it though.

While I was away from the ROM hacking scene, I learned how to make GameShark codes for PlayStation games. I was making lots of new GameShark codes for the Resident Evil games. Now, I'm thinking about spending a lot of time just doing GameGenie hacking. I don't really feel like getting into a major ROM hack, at least at the moment. Just kinda keeping it limited to ASM and GameGenie hacking. Expect more GameGenie codes for other games soon!

Seems like the spinning animation uses a countdown timer of some sort, and you found out how to freeze it through a GG. :p

I didn't know that the real Game Genie only has 3 slots. That sucks. Well, then I would use the first 3 codes then.

That's badass! (To bad the real Game Genie only allows for three codes, which ones change what? I want to play like that on the real thing for S&G)
