Incidentally, I grabbed the Arabian Dream sherazaado ROM and tried to play it....then realized I don't know a lick of Japanese, and apparently I don't know how to set stuff to my A button in that one either. Doh!

I never played the first one, and the third one barely runs on my computer for reasons I don't understand, but Carmageddon 2 made me lol so much. It's a shame it doesn't run on XP.

Literally dozens of vehicles to obtain and bash into each other, each with their own unique structure and 'feel' to them, a huge amount of attention to damage to those vehicles, huge maps with tons of secrets, a hilariously over-the-top physics engine, and tons of obscure powerups which often made the physics even more demented (PINBALL MODE ZOMG).

The only thing that really sucked about it was how much of the game was locked behind really really really really really hard missions, especially near the end of the game.

I'll, um, multi-opinion the Magic of Scheherezade. I'm actually in the process of planning for a speedrun of the game over the next few weeks-months.

BW: TransMetals for PlayStation. That game was SWEET! I don't know about the other versions, but that one rocked. I guess my being a big Transfan might have a lot to do with it.

Ufouria was announced as coming to the States but the NES market was starting to die out, so it only got a European release. Same with Mr. Gimmick.

Not surprisingly, both of those games are very fun.

Sugoi Hebereke was fun too because it was kind of like an unpolished snes smash bros. Fun.

When did Ufouria come to the states? I thought it was one of those few PAL-only games that we never got, and that really upsets me because it (and Mr Gimmick) are both really good games. Also, how was the game butchered when it was converted to Ufouria?

Space Station: Silicon Valley is indeed an awesome game a lot of people overlooked. I also really like Body Harvest and Bomberman 64, and a lot of people haven't played those.

Command and Conquer also ended up on the N64. I have no idea why Nintendo had this obsession to have PC strategy games on the console, but I'm guessing it didn't hurt.

Granted, something along those lines would be MUCH easier to pull off now on either the Revolution or DS.

Was it really any good?

Hmm... Snake rattle n roll maybe? Sure people talk about it now and then, but I still feel like the game was somewhat overlooked.

Good? yes, good... and slow. The N64 wasnt able to play it at a speed anyone who had the PC version was confortable with. it was basically just the campaign modes from Star Craft and Broodwar, so no negatives but nothing to spice it up at all. There was multiplayer (with split screen) so there was no way to supprise you're opponent. All in all the game was not bad, but if you had a PC you would be happier with the PC version.

Starcraft for the N64 was a weird move on Blizzard's part (I think Nintendo published the game) but it somehow worked. They basically managed to port over the entire game (Starcraft + Brood War) and fit it onto one cart, which was a pretty good feat in itself.

I believe the game needed the expansion pack however. If I recall, SC was playable but you needed the pack for Brood War and MAYBE two-player mode.

Yes it was. The only problem is, well, can you imagine playing starcraft with a N64 Controller... It is a pretty good game though.

Way of the Samurai 1 & 2 (PS2)- Very very overlooked game, where you take the role of a Samurai and you decide your own fate. You want to be honorable? Dishonorable? Kill anyone you want? Sure there are limits to it but both games were extremely fun.

Yeah, Demon's Crest is a good game. I havenīt beaten it, though, but I watched a friend beat it once.

Good music too.

Demon's Crest for the SNES. Third game in the Gargoyle's Quest series by Capcom, which is similar to Ghost 'n Goblins/Ghouls 'n Ghosts. (The main character of the GQ/DC series, Firebrand, is also in the G'nG series.) It's one of the most fun and original games I've played, and the music and graphics are just phenomenal. This game has so much atmosphere and style.

It was sadly very overlooked though, especially since Capcom did nothing to promote it. But it remains one of my top 10 favorite games.

I played this before I played Final Fantasy, making this my first RPG game. It's a bit like zelda and final fantasy mixed. I love all the characters, and you can stab people with your sword and they go "AHHH". To this day, I still have the word "Pampoo" stuck in my head..

My first NES game that I bought. I always this game. Except for the maze in level 2, it rocks.

Space Station: Silicon Valley for N64 was pretty good, if you could stand a LOT of bugs. Some of the later levels will have you tearing hair out though.

Oh, a Genesis is left lonely without the ThunderForce series.

ThunderForce IV almost blows away Gradius III, it's close. Music wise, it blows away any other Genesis game. III was quite awesome also.

Download the .gym and see for yourself.

+ Disagea is an awesome strategy RPGs for the PS2 (I think Hiryuu would also concur)
+ Tales of Destiny for PSX (this game got no love in the U.S.)
