Hell, feel free to ask me to go through them all and nuke the bad ones.

But you'd be left with about ten.

The only good thing about SMW Central is the ROM/RAM map, and even then...

I've seriously considered re-posting my QUALITY CONTROL thread and/or posting comments like "This hack fucking sucks" several times.

Seriously, what the hell?

Yeah, its been down since yesterday. Seems there was a problem with the board trying to read the categories....

Then why not just take down the board rather than THE WHOLE SITE?

And I'm getting sick of waiting for SMWC to return...

You're able to log on now. I guess they're back up again. Boom.dk just has the fix the username colors though.

I'm good for now. Still, I'll let you know if I need anything.

Has the site been fixed yet? I still can't even view the main page. Why is this? I deleted all my SMW Central cookies. ....I think....

The site is still there, it just seems to give the 401 error anytime you view the site when logged in. Which doesn't allow you to much of anything except look, so its not like your missing much. If you need to download something from there, just let me know in this thread for now and I'll post it as an attachment.

Until then, this is all the help I can give.

Cookies are files created by websites to hold information that they can look up next time you visit; this board puts your user ID and password in a cookie, so when you come back it can grab the info from there instead of you typing it again and automatically log you in. Everything else is just copies of files that were on the website, so it can run faster by using those copies instead of downloading them again. If you delete them it'll just download new ones.

Deleting everything isn't recommended since you'll lose all your cookies and cached files, which means you'll have to re-login to sites, lose website-specific settings, etc, and your connection will slow down for a while since it has to actually download every file from the site instead of using cached files. However, deleting everything from SMW Central means these effects will only occurr on SMW Central, which your parents probably won't mind.

You might want to discuss changing browsers with them to something like Firefox or Opera, as IE is a steaming load.

As if. My parents aren't just going to switch browsers just because I can't get on one little website. But just so you know, every cookie from SMW Central has been deleted, but it STILL won't let me view the website. The only way I can think of to fix it is to delete ALL the cookies on my computer, which I won't do without my parents' permission (and I don't want to ask them). Are there any other options (that don't involve getting another browser!!!)?

No! It still wont work. It acts like members are banned.

Just so you know, this is Remoga Sanctum. I logged on after removing the cookies and I still can't log in. I get the 401 message. Most members such as Techokami were able to post.

Does Comcast High-Speed Internet count as Internet Explorer? (Also, what if our computer doesn't use a username? Do we just do Delete "Cookie: @www.smwcentral.net"?

Okay, I just deleted everything that was in the Temporary Internet Folder that said it was from www.smwcentral.net. I hope that doesn't prevent me from ever going to the website...

Edit: It still won't let me through. I still can't tell what's a cookie and what isn't, BECAUSE NOTHING LISTED SAYS IT'S A COOKIE. The little help file I have for the internet says a cookie is a text file a website creates, or something like that. BUT THERE ARE NO TEXT FILES THERE. Only HTML documents. Plus, when I don't select anything, "Delete" does nothing, so what do I do?

Edit2: Sigh... The only option I have is to delete all the cookies from the computer. The only problem is, what if my parents need those cookies? If I delete them, and they go to a website where the effects would be noticed, then... they'd ground me... Or at least yell at me. Should I do it or not? (Also, it may be off-topic, but I REALLY wish someone would hurry up and BAN THAT STUPID SPAMMER.)

Edit3: Darn it... I've ALREADY deleted all of SMW Central's cookies, BUT IT WON'T LET ME GO TO SMW CENTRAL. What do I do now?

To remove your SMWC cookies, do this:

(Internet Explorer)
Go to Tools > Internet Options... > General > Settings... (in the Temporary Internet Files section) > Show Files...
Delete "Cookie:**computer user name**@www.smwcentral.net" or "Cookie:**computer user name**@smwcentral.net". If you've got both, delete both of them.

(Firefox)
Go to Tools > Options... > Privacy > Show Cookies.
Select "smwcentral.net".
Click on "Remove Cookies".

Delete your SMW Central cookies. They're what is making the problem. (It's a temporary bug from Boom.dk upgrading.)

Obviously you'll be logged out afterwards, but you can at least view the site.
